Actually, and only a true 1st gen geek would know this by sight, This isn't a CVCC.

The first engine available in the Civic was an 1169cc, all aluminum, (block and head) crossflow head, power plant. This engine was available all through the 1st gens life. (Although it did increase in displacement after the first year, to 1237cc, and 1238cc in 78-79. BTW, the engine in mine was bored and stroked to 1421cc's and just over 12:1 compression and made around 90hp. Carburation limits are what kept that number below 100hp.)

The CVCC featured and iron engine block, and the CVCC head was 'counter-flow' meaning the intake and exhaust manifolds are on the same side. For the Civic CVCC they all displaced 1488cc's (1500) and interestingly, were rated basically at same hp as the non-CVCC engine. (53 vs. 50)

They were different visually too. Although, all the difference is in the hood and front fenders.

The nose of the CVCC is actually 4 inches longer than the Non-CVCC. And that 'chevron' looking hood bulge on my non-CVCC? That was carried over for all the years of the non-CVCC's. The red CVCC pic I added here, has a typical CVCC hood profile. No center chevron, but the whole center is raised slightly.
