I have no issue with people driving in carpool lane (anymore), as long as they can keep up with the speed... or in this case, have the right lane open for me to pass.

Just like he said, so what if he risks himself a ticket, that's all up to him. The way I see it, please do so more often. It probably would help the city/county/state solve the budget problem.

I will make a 'polite' gesture to anyone in the carpool lane going at the same speed or slower as the next lane... to change lane or go faster. And will wave thank you when they make way.

Also, I don't give the finger to others anymore either... it is just a pointless thing to do and usually only make bad situation worse.
