I have a 2001 CBR 600 F4I 10,000 miles on it. I had a friend take it for a spin this weekend.. He noticed a rattle in the engine at low RPM I have felt this too.. but the bike runs great.. I have heard about such a rattle on 500 and 600 bikes, I hear this is normal, I dunno.. (maybe valves) but when you get past 5K RPM the rattle goes away. I don't think there is amything wrong with it just concerned.

some topics have been discussed in detail before and can be found using the search option.

do a search on "tensioner", and you will find tons of info on it.

also go to cbrworld.net, and do a search on CCT or tensioner and find info there too.

a little bit of search goes a long way.

@ lower rpm's if the cam chain tensioner isn't working properly your chain will become loose and rattle around on the runners. when you rev the bike the chain spins faster and takes up its own slack. get the aftermarket manual one from APE racing

I had no clue as to what was happening to the bike .. all i know is it was a rattling.... Hence why I asked those with more experience... Now I know what CCT is and what is causing the problem. I'll search CCT and see what I come up with... Thanks again you two have been a very big help.
