Hi,

I tried the search feature but couldn't find anything specific. So anyhow, as a last resort I'm asking you (the moto-gurus).

I've heard/read countless conflicting brands and types (moto-specific and auto), but they all have something in common, all prefer 10w40. My question, is it okay to use full-syn on my bike?

Thanks!

How many miles are on your bike? Most would say you should wait till your 3k oil change to go to synthetic to let everything break in properly.

But on the subject of weather or not to run full synthetic I think it’s a personnel choice. I did not like the way full synthetic felt, clutch felt to slippery (if that makes since). I have seemed to find a happy medium with synthetic blend.

Full synthetic is great if your budget can handle it. Semi synthetic is a decent compromise. I use Royal Purple Max Cycle 10W40 full synthetic and Silkolene 10W40 petroleum oils in the shop.
