I believe I met him at the USGP at Laguna this year. Cool guy. Good sense of humor. I wonder if his book is any good.

moved...by another mod :wtf

anyhoo, I used to enjoy Chris Carr race against Scott Parker in the 90s...:cool

They designed and built their own motor. Turbocharged V-4, all American made. The chain/sprockets are water cooled, thats how it goes that fast.

JDM only R-spec? :)

I don't see any Turbo stickers on the fairing or "Type R"s but it does have a big exhaust..:)

I dunno, but I bet it was the European spec motor. Not a neutered American version. :laughing

The first engine configuration was normally aspirated and making 420hp and 380ft of torque. Now the engine is turbocharger generating 525hp and 420ft of torque. The engine is designed to withstand nearly double the amount of power before any modifications are needed.

Runs on methanol, here is link if you are interested. Check the motor section.

Chris Carr is a fucking hero. Bow down.

Sounds conservative.

I keep thinking of those Ecotec GM motors making 1100hp out of smaller four cylinder motors than that. Then I look at how trick that motor is in the write up on their website. I can't help thinking that they are being conservative in how much power that beast can make.

They say 1050hp before they have to change anything. I think they just mean the oil, :laughing. I bet it can make a bunch more. Very, very impressive. Congrats to them on the record !

This engine fits in a space 18" X 28" ,not sure how large the ecotec motors are,and rules say it must be a "motorcycle" engine. As this was designed as only a m/c engine it meets the regs. It was designed as a big bang engine and Dennis said at speed it fires every 41 feet to keep from overwhelming traction. Its not just big power to go this fast, its got to stick too.

The motor at speed is quite. not sure of db but sound like 1/4 of the EZ hook Bussa.
