Coast to Coast

Ok, I finally knew how to upload the pic of the route, hope it works this time
but I did one more modification ... added San Diego
so total was around 74XX miles ...

I think you'd have a lot more fun doing a trip on more interesting roads, even if it isn't as many miles.

Not quiet sure... I know it's a 7-10 miles bridge... all depends if it was super windy I wouldn't

I'm sure that this trip will be a life changing experience... if I made it through all that... I can walk on the water... lol

I'll take it easy... and won't over load myself... at the end it's all for fun... :)
 
Enjoy! Ride what you want, where you want, wearing whatever you want. You'll figure out what works for you.

I'll second what others are saying and heavily suggest you re-think doing so many interstate freeways. You'll be missing out on so much and bored as hell most of the time. And I'm not just talking about twisty roads (although that too). From freeways, much of the US looks the same these days, with the same chain restaurants and rest stops.

I would totally agree with this. Riding secondary roads is more relaxing and scenic.:thumbup
 
I have ridden the moto coast to coast on the back roads. Endless twisties, rolling hills, local diners, funky motels, campsites, etc.

I have driven the big truck coast to coast on the interstates.

If you put a gun to my head, and said you need to ride the moto down 5 across 10 up 95 and back on 80 I'd say what are you waiting for, pull the trigger dammit!!!
 
Here is the map of my 11k coast-to-coast trip a few years ago and here is the accompanying blog.

My biggest point of advice: get some sound isolating earphones that double as earplugs . You can only sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall to yourself so many times. I used the Shure SE215-K.

The western parts of North and South Dakota are surprisingly interesting, both have their own Badlands.
 
One thing to keep in mind is you can do bigger miles in a day out west. Back east not so much. Also heading back you'll be riding into the sun late in the day, so have a dark tinted visor and sunglasses for that.
