Corbin seats or....?

Are Corbin seats really all that? I love buying from local vendors. KTM Twins for once has an upgrade seat that's cheaper than others (Corbin) which unfortunately makes me suspect of how good it is. What say ye, BARF? Or is there another brand you love?
 
I have never liked them on any of the bikes I bought that had them.
They were wooden planks for my bony 165 lb butt
 
What KTM are you shopping a seat for?

I have had good luck with seat concepts for the dirty bikes.

For the adventure twins, the KTM rally tall seat is supposed to be the best, and you can still reach the ground same as the normal seat because it is shaped differently, oddly enough
 
Love my Corbins. I've owned 4. Go to Hollister and have them custom fit you. It doesn't cost extra.

They were also much heavier than stock seats if that matters...
 
I have a lot of ass and have loved my Corbins (DL1K, TransAlp, DR650). If you are not blessed in the ass department, you might find the seat concepts a bit squishier. Which KTM do you have? If you wanna come sit on my Seat Concepts I am in town the week of August 9th through 15th. I have a Seat Concepts tall on my 790 and, while I am still kind of breaking it in, I love it. I also have one on my other DR650. - the low commuter seat and a tall that is chilling in my garage.
 
Have a Corbin seat on two bikes. They are comfortable due to the wider seat area and supportive foam. At first the seat feels very hard but after a while it will break in and feel great. YMMV.

I had Corbin redo the seat on my 1982 Suzuki GS650G. I rode the bike down to their shop. They cut out the rider’s foam, added new foam making the seat higher. They then let me shape the foam and take it for a test ride. Then they gave it to one of their sewing people who put a new cover on. I rode home happy.

I don’t know if they still do that.
 
I've had a few Corbins, and still have one on my EU Versys. They do EVENTUALLY break in, but that took at least 10K miles. Yes, they are very heavy. I have also used Seat Concepts kits on several bikes, and have been generally pleased with them. When I got home and rode my local Versys and its Seat Concepts seat just after getting home from Europe, I found that I preferred the Corbin, but only because of how it meets the tank. It makes it easy to crowd the tank, and the Seat Concepts gets in the way. It wants me to sit a couple of inches back. Like I said, it's an issue that probably doesn't impact others.

FWIW, I had a passenger complain about the piping at the edge of the pillion seating area cutting into the back of her legs. No such complaint on the Seat Concepts pillion accommodations.
 
My Corbin seat was very hard. I had it reworked at an upholstery shop and now it's very comfortable (although I haven’t taken any real long rides since having it done)

Another Corbin fan. I have had several and got lucky with my K1600. They had not made one for the K1600 and asked if they could use my bike to make one. Ended up with a touring saddle and a Smuggler. Does take 1000+ miles to break in.
 
Had a Corbin on my K75S and loved it.

Also really like the much lighter Sargent seat on my F800ST.
 
I have one on my 96 VRF and it is custom for the Givi luggage rack. It shaped differently the stock and for the most part hard then stock, but at the same time better then stock in my opinion.
Looking to get a Sargent seat for my 2004 SV 650 new or used.

Never ridden a Corbin, but I had a Renazco Racing custom seat on my Hypermotard 1100S with a suede top. That was my favorite seat ever. I bought a used seat for cheap with a torn top and sent it to Renazco for them to use the seat pan. I got the Idea after riding my friend's KTM 950 SM with a suede to Renazco seat. It sounds like the Corbin you are considering is affordable, so likely far cheaper than the Renazco solution. But good things are never cheap!

My lifetime count of three Corbins, used R 100, got one, it felt like my first BMW R 90/6.
It was hard, to start with and it did get comfortable, much like Corbins, all about the shape over softness.
When the shape sags, you lose support,
My FatBoy got one, did mucho miles on that bike, two week trip to Sturgis, my butt was getting tender,
settling into the seat, three minutes later, no issues.
The V-Rod, I rode it to Hollister, and came back with the new seat. Harder and firmer than the FB, all about the shape, , ,
