so i just got a 07 crf50 with a 88cc kit in it and it runs kind of wierd..heres what happens

it idles fine, revs up to half throttle fine, but when you give it full throttle, and full speed it seems like it has a rev limiter on it..it bounces around in rpm at full throttle..

it has a takegawa cdi on it, and i dont have the stock one to try..i have tried re jetting it and it seems like it improved..tomorrow im going to play around with the settings on the carb, but other than that, anyone got any other ideas???

Did you add a lighting coil for lights and wire it improperly?

Seen similar symptoms with others bikes that have tried to get setup for lights with out a regulator/rectifier setup.

What else have you done with your bike? also how high are you tring to rev it? you might be floating a valve.

its been 2 days playing with the carb..i tried a 100,90,85, and 80 main jet with no success..it did get better when i put the 85 or 80 in..i have adjusted the needle jet with very little differances. the spark plug is currently a chocolately brown. it runs great all up untill 90% throttle. then it does the bounce around in rpm thing and i cant get the revved all the way..

no lights or anything are on the bike..the CDI is suppse to be plug and play..

i kind of doubt its floating a valve, because from what i know when it does that its sound is more like dadadadada or how ever you want to spell it ha...my bike is more of a longer tone...instead of sounding like a floating valve, its like daaadadaaadada kind of get it??

mine did the same thing an #88 mainjet cured my problems

unplug your kill switch, ive seen those groundout when the engine starts revving up and vibrating more
