Hey folks,

So I'm thinking about getting a custom exhaust for my Monster as a Winter project. I really like how the BoomTubes cleans up the tail but apparently the guy who makes these can customize it however I want, so I'm looking for design ideas.

The first pic is how the standard exhaust looks. Some people have said that the tips should be stacked vertically at an angle or pointing up and toward the tail instead of out to the right. What do you folks think? Do you like either of these designs or would you like to see something else?

As for the latter pic, I'm not worried about how the pipes will look going around the casing or oil filter as the maker will also tailor this to the belly pan I have installed already.

Any ideas/feedback would be appreciated :D

prolly sounds like shit. Twins sound better with WOOF WOOF sound than a tin-ny BAP BAP that unbaffeled str8 pipes produce.

Personally, the Quat D ex box is a far elegant solution and sounds tits too.

Supposedly, according to other Monster owners on some forums I'm also a member of, the guy can make them sound just like Termis.

I know vids don't do it justice, but here are some I found on YT...

Boomtubes are highly regarded in the Duc community. Evidenced by the fact the guy making them is super backlogged. I'd say go custom if you don't mind waiting for a long time for your pipes. They aren't just straight pipes, this guy designed a baffle system that actually works. Everyone likes them. As for a design, thats personal taste. I'd go with diagonally stacked, top one trailing, and angled up to ~10 o'clock.

i'd fork them and point it backwards on either side of the rear tire. yes, i don't like the buell exhaust look on monsters

So like the 2nd pic, but angled more with staggered tips?

I know there are some other exhausts out there that also route the pipes under the tail like a sportbike, but I'm not sure if I like that on a Monster.

I dont like them, the sound is harsh, and thats why I never put them on my S2R800. There is no removable inserts to taylor the sound. The manufacturer assembles to your liking and thats it. Did you check out the Quat D? I like that style much better, and has removable baffle/tips if i recall

I have a QuatD and love it. Has baffles but isn't that loud to begin with. Photos somewhere in the Duc thread.

Sometimes all people can talk about is my box ;)

maybe, but with less backwards, or no backwards, and just staggered to the rear with the top pipe

My friend has these on his monster. It's embarrassing to ride around with him they're so loud. Please, be respectful to other people and don't have such a loud bike.

I'm thinking one one each side like a la TL/Busa but keep em tucked way in....

The guy can make them as loud as you want. Personally, I'd go for an unbaffled Termi sound and nothing more. I saw some vids on YT that are just ridiculous. Makes a HD sound like a kazoo.
