I been searching without any luck. Does anyone know where I can get a custom made subframe.
Thanks

What kind of bike ? For street use? Dirt track?

You want someone to build you a cystom sub frame from scratch or modify your sub frame? Either way you need to find a welder capable of welding aluminum.

Just looking to loose the extra weight. I ended up finding RnR racing that builds them. A bit out of my budget this month though.

anyone building a custom subframe would likely use chrome moly. This is never going to be a reasonable mod.
the sub frame is now cast alu right? One could I suppose remove material to "lattice" the side plates but honestly, why not spend that money on one on one training to improve your riding? A good rider on a heavy bike will beat a so-so rider on a trick modded bike all day long.
Many times it's not the equipment, but the operator.

Makes sense Tri750. Dave Moss is prob what I can afford. I'm not to sure who else is in his price range. This was my first year doing mostly track. At buttonwillow my best time has been 2:03. Really hoping to break the 2min mark next year.

98% of the guys racing gsxrs including us, run OEM sub frames. They are multi pieced and finding used straight ones is cheap after a crash. No real gain getting an aluminum one but you could I guess. Make sure the tabs are in the OEM locations so a race tail will bolt up cleanly. But race wise, I'd shed weight in other areas. Pm me for details, been setting up gsxrs for racing for some time now and know some nice tricks.

Motoholders make some really nice sub frames and they are lighter than OEM. Def expensive though.

I'd go for some fancy wheels if you want to cut weight. If you haven't spent money on suspension, I'd do that first, then wheels, then worry about a custom subframe.

Before you spend the money on wheels, decide what classes you are running because proddy class means proddy wheels and brakes

maybe for club racers, but way more of the AMA/moto-america guys use aftermarket aluminum ones. when i worked for vesrah suzuki & my rider jake lewis won the 2012 east coast supersport championship our bikes used different subframes & our sharkskins body work could use a variety of mounting positions & we used the non-OEM positions on the new subframe. We used aftermarket sub frames on eslicks triumph in 2014 & on both our riders aprilias in 2015.

OP..... theres several over the counter options for you out there, refine your search techniques & try again. heres a couple links to get you started.

Agreed Shawn, didn't think he was going to Race MA or build a MA machine. But, those bikes do have a lot of trick parts on them, and the budgets to replace them after a crash. When my buddy Chris was racing for Grant with Danny I always drooled at the cool go fast parts they had. Would love to just park a factory bike in my house as a conversation piece lol.
