Hot Rod magazine was my favorite, before I discovered Playboy. As a yoot, I had a pile of magazines as tall as I was.
Hot rod, car craft, super Chevy, car craft, anything that came out about hot rods, especially Chevy's.
It was my fantasy world.
CB had a cluster of good columnists at the same time for a while.
There was Ed and Maynard and one more that I really liked. His name escapes me, but I remember learning he sadly took his own life during the time he wrote for CB. That was back in the Brian Halton days.
(Edit: John D'India? I'm pretty sure I'm right...)

You're absolutely correct...as usual.![]()
pretty sure you’re thinking of Mr Joseph Glydon from prior to 2004 … seem to recall that it was cancer that got Mr D’India.
Their online format is awesome. This dope a means it!! I still<SNIP>
Don't get me started on the loss of my weekly dopamine hit called Cycle News.
Cycle News.I'm curious why there is no mention of this on their web site: https://www.cycleworld.com/An end of an Era is upon us as Cycle World magazine now is gone - January 1962 to July 7th.

AARP has a magazine?? Another reason to love my wife. She likely purges that crap before I can even get a glance. The only magazines we subscribe to are National Geographic, Scientific American, and Costco. I’m looking forward to my first issue of AARP in a few years.

Agreed. I’m hoping to be half the writer he was one day..,While we're at it.....
Peter Egan is a god to me....
Cycle/Cycle World was kind enough to publish all of his columns in three books called *Leanings*. My copies are dog-eared and well read.Agreed. I’m hoping to be half the writer he was one day..,
Such a great dude and such a wonderful perspective on the sport, we all enjoy.
Not sure how old you are...Hot Rod magazine was my favorite, before I discovered Playboy.
