It was all Eisenfaust, I think the only reason I was needed was because the R6 has no carrying capacity.

The only thing that it can haul is,,,...........ASS!!

awesome pics

those pics were awesome...BTW..the first lizard pic is of a leopard lizard and the second is a horned lizard. You guys could have run into some great snakes..serious rattlesnake country.

Can't believe you drove your R6 out there...crazy fun .....

thanks for posting

:thumbup The pix were awsome. It's nice to see these old planes. But do becareful, like afm956 says there are numerous small corners & hiding spots for spiders & snakes to hide in. It's common to find spiders making themselves comfortable in aircraft frames, when the plane is not in service.

What a great idea for an adventure. :thumbup

We really do have some interesting people, er...emo fags :twofinger, around here.

Great photos, too.

great pics! i love the b-52s...still happy to see its still in use...*i think* ahaha but yeah....my folks who went to war in VN said those were the best fuckin things ever

Damm Patrick I didnt know you got the special edition R6SM.Very cool trip maybe if you find another crazy idea as such I will have to join ya.

And yes GPS coords are a good thing.

beautiful pics, thanks for sharing.

(note to self: remember not to buy his R6!) :twofinger

Nice pics! I think it is a blast to go on safari in the dessert to find old relics such as those planes. I have been known to go on such missions hunting for old train stuff which abounds in some of the dessert areas of the southwest. It would be interesting to know the history of those planes...I wonder how much can be found out by checking that B-52 serial number on Google. I guess I will find out.

Info:
TB-58 Hustler located on the Edwards Air Force Base photo range. The Hustler carcass is used as a photography target for testing aerial recon systems. This B-58 started life as a YB-58 pre-production development aircraft, and was later modified to be a TB-58 trainer.

The Hustler is owned by the US Air Force Flight Test Museum in Rosamond, California. The museum is located on the grounds of Edwards AFB, and may not be open for the general public following 9/11.

Normally, I only use my own photography on my website. Since this aircraft is in a restricted area, and I have no chance of getting a picture of it in the near future, I decided to make an exception. This photo was provided by Doug Nelson, Director of the AFFTC Museum.

Yeah, I did reasearch on the native snakes before we went out. Thankfully they're mostly nocturnal. We made sure to make lots of noise wherever we went and kept our eyes peeled for rattlers.

I dont think they'd have had any way to get inside the planes. I've never known rattlesnakes to be serious climbers. Then again, I've only ever seen them a few times in the wild.

Tecnically, yes.

However, there are no fences or anything. There's a fenced off area *near* the aircraft, but one doesnt have to cross any barriers to get to the planes if you come in from the south.

Hey Patrick!

Thanks for sending me this link. Great photos. Sounds like a fun trip.

Only super legit rivitheads spend their time searching for old hulks of metal! :teeth
