Do You Mountain Bike?

Ouch! I take it you had a spare hanger?:confused

Yes ma'am. The spares kit in my Camelbak isn't as extensive as Joe's, but it does have a SRAM quicklink and a hanger.

Do you know where you're riding this weekend yet?

Lisa's birthday is this weekend, and we're hoping to get some miles in at Annadel. Rick, how many miles was your group looking at doing? Do you have a route in mind?

Anyone else up for another round at Annadel?

Hi Mike. We plan on a 20-25 miler this weeken - route yet undetermined. We do have group with varied skills/experience, so there may be some considerable rest periods throughout. Not sure how briskly you expect/prefer the pace to be - but we will be playing it my ear...

What time are you guys planning on being there?

We don't have any time set in stone - it would be cool to finally get a chance to ride with ya!

At the Mountain Bike Oregon event last week, we were typically in the most laid back group on each ride. Lisa climbs well but doesn't take any chances on descents - I'm sure we'd both be pretty comfortable in a group with a wide range of abilities.

I like the 20 mile route that Roxy posted, but would be up for adding a few more trails if everyone else was up for it (Upper Ridge / Rough Go / Cobblestone). Our rides generally start around 10 AM, but let us know when you plan on being there and we'll try to hook up!

First, I'm thoroughly ashamed of my blatant lack of spelling talent. I should really run a spellcheck next time... :nerd

Anyhoo - we plan on an earlier meet @ 0830 hrs. That way, we can accomodate the variety of riders that may join the ride (i.e. get home before dinner) :rofl. Nonetheless, our rides seem to be less "intense" than what you guys may be accustomed to - but we always have a good time because of the company. Oh, and the post-ride grub is always awesome... :thumbup

I'll run the 8:30 start time by the woman and let ya know. If that's not happening, we could try and catch ya on the trail if you post a route.

What were you thinking of for post ride grub? Old Chicago's Pizza in Petaluma and Mike's Burgers in Cotati are our two favorite post-Annadel spots, but we're always up for something new and good!

OC's in Petaluma sounds great! A Chicago 7 and a Blue Moon sounds like just the ticket... :)

Here's contact info: 707-771-9814. Hope to see you and Lisa there!

OC's in Petaluma?! Nice! Hope you two make it out to join us :D :teeth

My New Gloves!

So the Dakines I bought a few months ago are already starting to tear at the "grippy/rubber" finger area, the simple Fox gloves I have offer very little protection, and my favorite circa '96 "Rocket Power Parts" gloves are finally getting unserviceable. Soooooooo, while at MotoGP in Monterey this weekend, I stumble into the RS Taichi booth and spot a pair of RST361 "shorty" motorcycle gloves. They looked like tasty MTB gloves - so i tried them on... and they FIT PERFECTLY!! Light weight with hard knuckle protection, mesh venting, and good, solid construction - these RS Taichi gloves are now my NEW mtb gloves! :teeth Ok, I paid more than I would mtb-specific gloves, but the RSTs are just so damn siiick... Check them out. I got my in blue...

Looks like your hands are going to get hot?

Picture is deceiving. The gloves are really light and vented well. Another thing I really like about them is that they have a pull-tab to allow for a nice snug fit. My old RPP gloves had them, but no one else until these RS Taichis.

Just for reference, the last time we did Annadel, we did

Channel -> Richardson -> Two Quarry -> Lawndale -> Schultz -> Pig Flat -> Marsh -> S. Burma -> Richardson -> N.Burma -> to the car

This time I plan on taking them the same route up until Pig Flat. So from Schultz -> Ridge -> S.Burma -> Rough Go -> Cobblestone, maybe throw in some Live Oak if people are up to it. Last time we had to bail early since some people were running out of water. So just a reminder...22ish miles...bring lots of water!

I'm bringing "Stinky", the amazing MTB water buffalo for those water-challenged.

Oh and we need to determine the post-ride grub location! MmmmMmmm Old Chicagos...

Old Chicago sounds good to me...mmmmm...so is the meeting time 0830?

Edit: How many people are we looking at?
