Does the "Loop" ride still live on?

It really is hard to comprehend the wackiness of that time.

I think I only went on three or four of the rides, the last one I went on there must have been at least 75 people there, and Bud bandit had friends that he called on to be leads and we broke up into about five or six groups. I don't know maybe there were more, we pretty much filled the parking lot at the store across the street from Alice's.

By then I was able to spot the people who were going to crash on the ride, before we even left. I don't think I ever saw anybody get helicoptered or take an ambulance, so it just didn't seem too bad. On the other hand, I sure as hell did not want to crash myself. I don't think I ever saw less than two people crash in MY, group on a ride.

BB's frustration level was usually about 12 before we were able to even get out of the parking lot... It was amazing that he continued to doing it for as long as he did... Hats off to a real Trooper :hail

Fun times for sure, wouldn't have missed it for anything.
We put more than one rider in CALSTAR & Stanford LifeFlight (not at the same time) in the field behind STP; ( at the time, it was the brown dirt looking lot, not the pretty green one. Fast forward in time- I suspect they can get into the green lot now with the EC-135/145 having smaller rotor diameter of the Bell 222's in use back then.)

I was just lucky.... That shit must get old fast 😢

As I have gotten older I've become more mindful in choosing who is in my riding group. Most recently it has been me, myself, and I. There are enough risks that come riding with those three idiots that I hesitate in linking up with others :laughing

I am pretty sure V4 is referring to the loop that started at Alice's/Trading Post (84 and 35) went south to the coast (Hwy 1) had food in Davenport. Then went back via Hwy 9. I am pretty sure that "organized" ride died when Bud Bandit stopped "hosting" it (quite a long time ago). I stopped joining after I almost got taken out from a rider behind me twice.
Man - those were the days. I rode from Modesto to join Budbandit, Gary J, Thump, Kingey, Tripp, BakSeatRed, Ette, WinterMute and a bunch of other regulars on those rides. People just...drifted away, myself included (got a job that took me to SoCal for a while).

Yes, there were crashes. I liked when we had much smaller groups, mainly the aforementioned people who could keep it in their pants. Safer, more camaraderie.

My last ride with a representative sampling of that group was ages ago...

Bud Bandit rides were awesome for beginners like me. Since I was new to the whole thing, I came to think that it was normal for two or three people to crash on every ride. And yes I had a guy crash into position right behind me when we all pulled over at a stop sign for a break :wow
You're not much of a noob anymore, are you? :wave

The squid hunter loop started at the 76 station in Saratoga

Skywood store was selling the posters a few years ago. Might still be.
