DynaBead Review

I still don't have an opinion on this. I just find it interesting. I'm trying to wrap my head around how a mechanically induced oscillation can't be felt in the bars but the minute you take your hands off it induces "crazy" headshake.

Not sure - I guess I could take the beads out then record it. It's very possible that I am just not as sensitive to vibrations or that type of activity when Im holding the bars. It is a harley, it vibrates naturally. The only time ive had the headshake is the incidents as described.

Its weird - seems like some of yall are trying to make an opinion of what my experiences were. Im just telling you how it was/is. I am traveling amd will check the steering stem/etc when I get back for safety concerns. However as for the shake, it is absolutely not there anymore.

Its almost like some of you are trying to disprove what Ive stated - you guys are weird. How I said it happened is how it happened. There is only one motorcycle variable that changed before the shake and after.

In the end - I spent $15 for the beads/kit and it took care of this one issue I had. I am not sure if there are other after effects - i guess we will have to see.

Basically Dynabeads are good for masking underlying issues rather than addressing the issue.

That's a qualified statement. If the issue is tire wobble due to imbalance, then you could say the same thing about stick on wheel weights. However it would be impractical to address the root cause by shaving metal off the rim or rubber from the tire.

That sounds good to me. I wonder if at one point the tire will spin too fast too abruptly, not allowing the beads to get into the right place. I wouldnt use them for trackbike.
 
What happens when you go to change the tire? Do a thousand little beads fall all over the floor?

Your hands tend to damp the positive feedback that leads to oscillation.

The front wheel is always being bumped by the road's imperfections. The bike's rake and trail are attempting to re-center the wheel. At a certain speed/frequency the forces synchronize (positive feedback) and things oscillate.

With your hands on the bars you've changed the mass of this system, which changes the speed/frequency at which the feedback occurs.

Havent gotten there yet, but since the tire cups inward when off the wheel, I dont think it will jus spill everywhere - unless something crazy is done

I tried the product. The beads found their way up and clogged the valve stem somehow resulting in air leak. Never again.

Thats something to think about - Thanks. It would be possible when letting out air or if stem has any gaps to get the beads stuck. Ill look at the stem and keep an eye out for any dramatic tire pressure changes
 
specially made stainless steel cores that have a filter on the end that should be installed when using any type of balancing bead.image.jpeg
 
Or, you can just make sure that you fill/empty your tire with the valve stem positioned on the lower half of the wheel (i.e. pointing up).
