empty parking lot

Downtown SJ has some parking garages you can get in at night. :)

Parking garages dont feel like a great place for first time practice. Often there are giant poles to run into fairly regularly, many of them have sloped road and walls all over the place. The idea of a parking lot practice seems to be to find a place that is big, open and devoid of things to run into/cause property damage to.

Cisco has about 100 buildings with empty lots during the weekend or afterhours. I've also seen moto cops doing training in a HUGE empty lot in Santa Clara off of Tasman and Centennial Blvd.

VTA Parking lot at Blossom Hill and Hwy85 is usually almost completely empty.

Any suggestions for an empty parking lot in San Jose near hwy 87 to be exact.
my lady just passed her M1 permit and i want her to practice first in a parking lot. Doing the 8 figures, u-turns, stopping etc....
Your suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Most of the Park and rides are empty on weekends. Also the parking lots along San Ignacio most business are closed and lots open

Cisco has security 24/7 and will ask you to leave.

Thanks, it's funny I just thought about that too.
I was thinking of going back to the parking lot where i took my MSF. But i can't seem to remember what high school it was.
It's by south San Jose, Blossom hill road.

One MSF school used to teach at Leigh HS.

Look at San Jose via Google maps and choose satellite. Zoom in and look for unfenced/ungated/unguarded parking lots. Choose a few potential lots and scope 'em out.

Happy hunting!

Google Earth is also a good way to scope out areas for practice. There's a plug-in that ties it into Google Maps too.

Hey, what bike do you have? Is the color scheme blue n white? I saw a motorcycle practicing slow speed in a parking lot next to walmart on monterey and it reminded me of this thread haha. Just wondering if that was you.

FYI: Mission College is currently doing construction (building solar panels) on the lot where the MSF course used to be. Other lots might be okay.

FYI: I went by Mission College this weekend. Motorcycle riding was in full effect. They move the MSF course to the middle parking lot. Even with the first parking lot full of R/C car racers there was PLENTY of space to get your practice on. There is also the staff lot on south end of campus. Riding was good.
