Enduro vs MX?

What a real design shoud look like IMO:

Then there is a, trying but not there quite yet and some people still love them, GasGas:

As we all know I choose the KTM because their the greatest "off road" dirtbike:bow

no wonder I'm still spinning my (mental) wheels on a bike :loco

that 250280 Pampera sure looks btichin' on their web video, whether a short newb like me could pull it off is another story? sub-200 lbs., 33" seat height and about a grand or so less than the KTM, 250 vs. 250. very attractive.

let alone the used KTM vs. DRZ vs. XR vs. KLR(x?) alternative path.
argghhh

about all I know so far is green sticker good, plated even better (but not absolutely req'd). and for me light weight and manueverability is key. I don't think I'm going to worry about motard conversions, dirt and trail is what this will be for and already have a street bike.

the drill down continues. thanks all for the info as well as questions here!

oh yeah p.s. just read about Canondale Moto bankruptcy and sold off. scratch that off the list I guess. unless new owner can revive somehow? flood of discounted used bikes to hit the market soon as owners abandon them? who knows.

Max, The Pampera is about the smallest, lightest easiest bike to ride on the planet this side of an XR100. After riding one up rocks I had to have one myself. If you are at all interested in the bike you really are more than welcome to take a test ride anytime. I actually know of a 2002 280 that has been all set up by a expert level traisl and B level enduro rider that is for sale here in CA. She used to race an EC200 but after riding the Papera switched to racing that (and winning the B class!). It really depends what kind of trail riding you want to do, it's a real mou tain goat. If you are interested in learning more, there is a Yahoo group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/GasGasPampera/

For the rest of you, I see all the marketing $$ is working :laughing

Hah... isn't that comparing apples and oranges, a 250 trail bike to an EXC? (how many cc's is the EXC anyway?)

The 280 Pampera is nothing like a KTM or even a Gas Gas enduro bike (exc or EC, etc) but of course that is what makes it so awesome.

It is so wonderful that we have so many bikes to choose from. The Pampera is in a league of it's own. A girly bike? Tell that to the A enduro riders that outride their peers on full-sized bikes in the nasty technical stuff ;)

The best bike is the one that makes its owner/rider happy. Period

And I would also add that only test-ride should permit talking. A picture or some spec will never reflect reality.
