Have any of you guys heard of a company that goes by Excel Communications? My girl is thinking about getting (working) into it. It’s a company like AT&T and Sprint.

From what she tells me it sound like a pyramid Scheme to me. First you have to pay them $200 for “training” then you eventually get it back after you get more then 10 people in it. After that you get 10% of the phone bill or whatever service you get them in to. Sounds kind of fishy to me. Have you guys had any experiences with this company or has any one ever tried to sell you some of their services? Thanks

based on the description of the job, it's a pyramid alright.

it's been around forever.

don't knwo if it's truly a pyramid.?? more like network marketing..which is sort of a legal pyramid???

actually used their long distance for a while...

Legal pryamid....a mutual friend of staRand and myself is always trying to "sign" us up....blah....I hate that shit!

If I were your g/f I would tell them, oh so very nicely, to shove it up their arse

Oh man, I've gotta' show A-dub this... Yeah, so, a really good friend of ours, has been in it for about a year and a 1/2 now. At first, it sounds like a pyramid scheme, but, I've actually been to a meeting or two. I mean, this guy is like a brother to me, so, I gave him my word that I'd at least check it out. It sounds pretty legit, and IMO is more along the lines of network marketing, like Marco said. Marketing by way of mouth... He's been living off of it, so it can't be all that bad... Although I do end up pickin' up the tab most places we go... :laughing

It's just liek all the other work-from-home things. Omnitrition, Herbalife, amway, etc....

Problem is, once everyone joins up, they think that every acquaintance, friend, or relative of theirs is an easy sell.

Did the whole Amway "circles" thing with my brother a while back....fucker.

my parents got roped into amway when i was a kid, about twenty years ago. they STILL have boxes of amway detergent in the basement.:laughing :laughing

unless ur the first one in on these pyramids, no matter how legal it is, you wont make shit for the effort you put in. been there done that.

Excel Comm folks used to meet at the Starbucks in Vallejo, but now they're big time and finally got established in some office in Vallejo.

Funny they never really did try to 'recruit' some of us bikers :confused

Wow, they are still around eh? I remember my little brother and his friend would go around passing out flyers and such for his dad who was into this. I don' t think he was ever filthy rich, but he made enough for living.

That's your hint right there. No company that requires you to pay up front for "training" is legit. It's just like that company that makes you buy a $200 set of "demo" knives to show to customers to try to sell them sets. A real company would give you the demo set, not make you buy it.

co-worker of mine was doing that about 6 years ago... he was all the time trying to convince me to either buy in the the `multi level marketing promotion' ( pyramid scheme) or even just sign up for his long distance...
I told him BIG companies were offerring gifties to sign up with their companies... he asked me to name a giftie... heh.. I said a Pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream a week...
it was cool.. he would just drop it off on my porch... yummy.... kept that lond distance company until spring - when it got to warm for ice cream to safely sit on a porch:laughing

..anyways... yea.. i can't eblieve they are still in business... DANG after all these years.. those top guys must be in the bling!
