F1 light on 2001 CBR f4i

I'm dealing with a 2001 F4i which has an interesting problem. I don't really know where to begin. Basically what happens is the FI light comes on pretty often. Also the spedometer reads zero sometimes. This all happened sence I was forced to push start the bike. Any ideas? Does the SPEDO work off the ECM?

does the F4i's have a "dealer mode" you can switch to? maybe FI error from 1 of the censors?

check for bad ground, loose connections stuff like that at least eliminate that if the FI censors are okay. not sure where to go from there. :|

Sounds like the speedo sensor is bad.

And do you use a power commander? That might mess with the FI mapping and thus turning on the FI light...?

I would take it in for sure. Honda shops will have a diagnostic service at least..

What is the voltage coming off your battery?

My VFR had 0mph and 0rpm while driving w/ a low battery. I think the only thing keeping the bike alive at that point was the alternator dumping some charge into the battery to get immediately sucked out by the bike...

i just encountered this problem with my bike, today is 3/5/05.

theres no posted solution to his problem, any other ideas?

Trickle charge your battery overnight (Battery Tender Jr).

when you turn on the bike you should see the fi light blink, 1-20something times count the # of times then go look up the code, mine did it for a while cause the airbox connector was loose.
im sure if you google f4i fi light code you can find a listing of the codes.
