Fellow Barfers Be Aware of Counterfeit D.I.D Chains

So I ... sent the chain to D.I.D and here is the reply I got.

We received the chain and sprocket that you sent us for inspection. ... We are in the process of contacting the seller on ebay to stop
selling these chains. If you have any further questions,
please let me know.

OP, contact D.I.D, let their lawyers shut down this asshole on ebay.
...

Good reading.

A friend had a Tsubaki chain on his YZ250. Chain broke and destroyed his crankcase. We took a close look a the chain and discovered that several links had been misstamped at the factory. Had almost 2 sets of holes in the side plates. Sent the chain back to the maker. They admitted the flaw, offered to pay for parts, refused to cover labor.
As for me, I had a legit new DID break at one of the intermediate links. Took out the crankcase of my 86 Ninja 1000. This while pulling slowly away from a stoplight.

Thanks for the headsup, lastblast. :thumbup
DID is an excellent brand name product. It's important to protect them and the customer. Go barf community! :party

I would avoid Amazon too. They mix their new/used/return (possibly 3rd party) inventory so it's just as much as a gamble ordering directly from Amazon.com
