ok so yesterday after coming home from work one of my friends that makes alot of custom parts came by i told him i wanted to have my plate under the rear seat area instead of having that stupid tail thing. he didn't finish but what he did was drill 2 holes and this morning when i tried to start my bike it didn't roll over and the FI light came on after i took my hand off the starter button. wtf did he do?? when i did the fi light test it says 39 and the book says that means "ECU communication error" is there any way to bypass this. the holes he drilled look clear and it doesn't seem as if any wires were hit. please help need this fixed asap!

What's with all of those drill holes in the first pic? Looks like more than just two holes.

Sounds like your buddy potentially customized your electrical system with errant/misplaced drill happy activity.

the holes with the red circle around them are the ones that went all the way through and the others are either pics of rubber i scrapped off after the pic from burn outs or he miss-measured it and didn't go all the way through they are just indents. i asked my mechanic buddy and he said to disconnect the ECU and check it out but i have no idea how to do that

Measure once, drill twice?

Nothing that $500 can't fix.

The Mohawk- "DUDE YOU FUCKING DRILLED STRAIGHT THROUGH THE CDI ON MY NINJA!!!"

Drill Guy- "What?"

The Mohawk- "I'm gonna look like a total idiot wearing a helmet with a mohawk on the goddamn bus!"

Drill Guy- "Huh?"

The Mohawk- "When I can afford to fix this I'm going to drive over to your apartment and perforate your spleen with that fucking drill!"

Drill Guy- "Who is this? I gotta go."

hahaha omg thats basicly what i did lol. already got a new ecu on its way from a buddy parting out his bike. same one too for 150 lucky me!

:rofl funny as hell

funny part is that the holes he drilled that went all the way through the ecu are perfect for the license plate bracket.

That is fucking epic. :laughing All you need to do is port and polish your ECU by running some sand through it with a vacuum cleaner. :rofl

lol i've never heard him say "holmes" before. but hey on the bright side after i took out the holy ECU the license plate holes fit my bracket perfectly!:thumbup

you're excited that the holes he drilled for the plate fit @ the cost of the original ECU :wtf
