I think you're mixing up a bit. Martin was killed on a group ride Hwy 25, just south of Pinnacles, I was there.

An elderly couple had turned off at a gate that goes into Topo Ranch and backed up onto Hwy 25 in his path. His helmet had a new-fangled (at the time) chin strap quick-connect that "didn't", I found his helmet about 100' from the crash. He died immediately.

If memory serves that's Bill's (Engine Boy) crotch-shot on the stretcher. Crashed at the tight turns on H25 just south of La Gloria Rd. That' s me in the stitch helping a firefighter over the fence. He got pretty busted up, took some time to heal.

Sorry. I'm remembering the day I had out riding and coming home to a very sad forum. I remember it being a really active and nice day on the hill. I wasn't there for Martin's crash. Apologies for the mix up.
 
This might be a tough one. His bike is in a lot of pictures, but he is not.
He has made a couple Rally appearances.

This was the first time I met him. He showed up out of the blue knowing which motel we were at. Great surprise! He later came to a PitHo Rally in Morro Bay and post in the Bike on location thread often showing off his powerful ride.
