Flat Track Racing Mega Thread - INCLUDES SPOILERS!

Cameron Smith 3rd in his semi, first time on the twin RE.

A lot of good action in all the Semis.

This long red flag after Varnes' crash is unsettling. I hope its nothing serious.

They just said waiting for an ambulance. The village of Weedsport is around 2,000 population. Syracuse is 25 miles away. May be a while to get an ambulance. Said they do not have 2 on-site, but I understand the cost.

Thanks for the details on the Weedsport area.

I believe some insurance policies require two ambulances on site so the delay may have been related to getting a 2nd ambulance to the track but I'm just speculating.

Lot emotion on the podium tonight across all three AFT classes. Hoping for the best for Ryan Varnes.

Unfortunately, Ryan Varnes succumbed to the injuries he suffered during a crash early in the Production Twins main event at Weedsport. The Varnes family is deeply involved in flat track across three generations and has close friends across the AFT paddock and throughout the flat track community.

Rookies of Class of '79 has set up a fund to support the Varnes family. Rookies class of 79 management absorbs all administrative expenses associated with their fund so 100% of donations go directly to help riders and their families.

Peoria TT is tomorrow, Sat, July 30th. One of the most exciting races in all of Flat Track, the jump and high speeds make for a spectacular event. The SuperTwins class is stacked as Henry Wiles returns to AFT with his specially built Kawasaki Twin TT weapon. But it won't be easy for Wiles as JD Beach has now won every TT on the AFT schedule and is the reigning champ at Peoria. Briar Bauman, Jared Mees, Jarod Vanderkooi, Beach's teammate, Dallas Daniels, are all brilliant TT riders who want to grab the historic checkers at Peoria.

Semis for all three AFT classes start at 11:50am Pacific. Main events at 1:15pm Pacific. Catch the action live on FansChoice.TV for just a few dollars.

While the AFT schedule crossed some questionable tracks early in the season, Peoria kicks off several weeks of fantastic racing on excellent tracks:
Peoria TT this weekend
Black Hills Half Mile next weekend on August 6th.
The Castle Rock (WAS) TT on August 13th.
Sacramento Mile, August 20th.
Springfield Mile double header on Sept 3/4

The AFT season wraps up with the Cedar Lake (WI) short track Sept. 24 and returns to the Volusia (FL) Half Mile on Oct. 15.

Peoria delivered today. Great races in all 3 classes. J.D. Beach gets the win.

JD made the long wait worthwhile. Hell of a ride under pressure. Good racing all day.

AFT Black Hills Half Mile this evening. AFT makes chooses some pretty damn sketchy half mile tracks but this is NOT one of them. The Black Hills Speedway is a fantastic track that produces great racing and is a favorite among many AFT racers.

If thats not reason enough to tune in, Jeffrey Carver, Jr. is returning the AFT SuperTwins class on a Dodge Brothers XR750. Yeah, an XR750. Hopefully its one of the Dodge Bros bikes that Baker won the championship on.

Watch live on Fanschoice.TV with your subscription.

Semis start at 6:30pm Pacific time
Mains start at 8:00pm Pacific time

I have no idea what that translates into using AFT time. LOL

The track went from dry and staring to come apart to smooth and tacky. All it took was a little rainstorm. Mains are going to be good.

Spot on about the track and racing Bill. The Singles and Prod Twins were really good. Too bad about the ST main getting rained out. Looking forward to Castle Rock and the Sac Mile.

Going to be about 8,000 feet up in the Sierra the night of the Sacramento Mile. I know I can get a cell signal up there. But will it be enough to stream the race??? I have an ATT hotspot in the van with unlimited data, will give it a try.

Time to rebound from the ST Main rainout at Black Hills. AFT returns to Washington state for the Castle Rock TT tonight. Promoted by Thor Drake of See See Motorcycles, See See Coffee, The One Motorcycle Show, DirtQuake and countless other cool things Drake has contributed to motorcycling, this TT should be a fantastic event. Brad Baker is in charge of prepping a track he knows and loves from his youth in Washington.

Semis start at 7:20pm Pacific

Main Events start at 8:45pm Pacific

The Castle Rock TT is proving to be a great event. Looks more than worth trip north to see this race next year. My brother lives about 80 miles away so I'm already planning to mooch a room at his house in Northern Oregon.

Good to see a standing-room-only crowd. Every race has delivered today.

Coming up on 2:00 AM for the east coast fans. Hell, it is passed my bedtime. Hope the race gets started without any more delays.

I waited through the ambulance delay for the Main. Very, very lucky no one got hurt when Daniels' bike died on the first start. After the big MA accident at Laguna, riders, teams, and officials should take electrical issues more seriously. Had the bike stalled even another 100 feet down the track, it could have been much worse.

Still, good racing all night. Championship contenders all had interesting nights so there was more than race winners to draw interest.

Starting to get really excited for next Saturday.

The TT's all seem to be Beachfront property.
