HI, I was wanting to know if San Francisco was going to be hiring any time soon? Or if they were planning on starting a academy? Thanks..:teeth
 
for the first time ever I opened a popular Peace Officer magazine I (and I'm sure many other LEOs here) receive and there was not one single hiring advertisement...

Even when agencies are not hiring "new hires" many are still looking for "lateral hires".

quite a sobering indicator of the tough times!
 
Well i got a letter to retake the phq.. I was just wondering.... I was just confused because I didn't think they were hiring.. but maybe?:thumbup

probably to keep the list current but dont count on sfpd hiring anytime soon, especially because they're letting veteran cops go
 
Anyone they lay off will have hire back rights should any positions open up before they will ever hire off a list.
 
Not sure if your set on sfpd but Bart PD IS hiring entree level officers. I got interview in 2 weeks with them but they said they need at least 11 spots open.
 
We are not laying anyone off, that is just a scare tactic to fore-stall our contract raises that have been deferred for the last 3 years.

We may be hiring some laterals, but in reality we need to see what the end of the fiscal year brings. July starts the new fiscal year, so the news should develop soon.
