I like my heated grips because I can adjust them on the fly and around here you can start in the valley at 60 and have it be below 40 at Alice's. It's nice to be able to turn on/up the heat as you travel. My grips have a rheostat 0 to 10.
I have never tried a heated vest, maybe some day.
I notice that as I turn up the grips the heat travels up into my forearms.
It may be all in my head but the returning warmer blood feels like it helps keep my core warmer.
