I'm thinking of an inverted front fork swap for my cbr600rr. Ideally with a 1000rr. Has it been done? Can it be done? Any opinions? Thanks, g

They do it with the R6 and R1 front end. If it is possible, you'll have to get 1000RR tripple clamps, front wheel, forks, clip-ons, rotors, & calipers. Probably 1000RR throttle and cables too.

IIRC, the problem (in the gixxer version of this) was the headset bearing(s) being different, so even if you had the "triple clamps, front wheel, forks, clip-ons, rotors, & calipers" from a donor bike, you still needed an aftermarket bearing that wasn't (a stock) part of either bike.

Bob Hayashida at Big Valley Honda would be one to get a hold of. He installed an RC51 front end on his 600RR and is currently building a 1000RR for the track. He would KNOW what you need to get the job done.

BVH was stocking the bearings/races neccessary for the RC/RR swap. Contact BobH. GP
