Garmin Zumo ... thoughts?

That sounds like a good price, but do keep checking www.gpsdiscount.com They consistently have the lowest prices on GPS equipment (I do not work for them, but buy almost all my GPS things from them)

Accessories are nice, but the Garmin units already come with 90% of the things you'll need right out of the box, so GPSDiscount might end up the better deal.

They don;t carry the Zumo as yet, but you can do a price compare on the Nuvi 660 and see how they stack up...

Not sure if your supplier is out of state either, but since GPSDiscount is, its nice to avoid sales tax...

if ya got $$$$, then spend it.......my 2610 StreetPilot is looking more dated everyday, but that thing is too much $$$$.....I paid half of what that thing goes fer.......I thought tech stuff gets cheaper as time goes by?!?!?

I really like the abliity to save and load multiple tracks and multiple routes on my GPS's, while the more car-oriented Streetpilot (and Quests) only allow one track and route to be saved/stored/loaded at a time. Any GPS geeks already playing with their Zumo that can comment?

I think somebody on advriders.com picked one up. They have a long thread on the Zumo going on.

I'm thinking of getting one for my 05 RT also. I just haven't found a trick mount yet.

Yeh. Why are all these damn GPS units sooo damn expensive?
They have like $50 worth of parts and software, and maybe another $100 worth of assembly, shipping, licensing, etc. So why are you people paying $700 to $1200 for one???
STOP buying them so the price will come down!!!

I'm looking to pass down my 2610 to my wife's truck, but I can't pay more then $600 for a GPS. That's what I payed for my 2610 1-1/2 years ago.

Yup, and loving it. If you ride the same roads every time I guess there is no purposea at all...but if you like touring / exploration you can't live without it.

It is quite a stunning piece of technology. Cost about $600 online and purpose-built for motorcycling. I love the fact that I can plan long trips on my PC and follow the turn-by-turn routes on the bike. Or I can take crazy backroads in the middle of nowhere and press 'go home' or find the nearest gas station or see all the restaurants in the area. Or e-mail a google earth flyover of my epic ride to a friend.

BTW I hooked it up to my autocom so I can hear voice directions, MP3 music if I am on a boring straight highway, and even make or answer a phone call (I only do it when parked), talking in my helmet.

The 550 is a lot cheaper online. The 450 is even cheaper if you don't want a few bells and whistles. I bought a 550 for just over $700.
