Yep, there was a time when I wanted to have the largest gas tanks available. That was when I was younger and often rode more than 200 miles between gas stations.Maybe when I slow down I'll appreciate charging time, but not yet.
Now that I have slowed down, I enjoy shorter trips more, and riding to charging stations to check in has become a hobby of mine. And from those places, I will often take a hike. Such as down to the Yuba River at Gould Park when I charge up at Cisco Grove. There I can do things such as type out these forum messages--stuff I do at home way too often. I would rather do this under a shade tree next to the river.
My long days of doing nothing but riding long distances nonstop are over. But in case I still want to take a long motorcycle ride, I still have my 1K lb Harley Ultra (six-gallon tank) as well as my Triumph Trophy (7-gallon tank). And they each get around 50 MPG until I ride fast. My Harley gets great MPG at 65 MPG but very poor at 85 MPH.
But I find I mostly ride my electrics these days, and I enjoy the charge breaks.
