Gear on or off to fight?

head butt to the nose, and if they punch u make sure they hit dead on the top of your helmet.

Seems like it would be hard on the neck if you wanted to be a missile. If would just keep all my gear on in a fight, maybe take off the helmet visor if its convenient if I feel it would get in the way.

trust me on this:

I've grown up with a lot of violence and the outcome usually ends up bad for someone....

what I learned is: put the pride aside and walk away from conflicts if it can be settled peacefully....

sure you can be angry about the situation but better to be alive another day or not get locked up for something pity...

use your pride in a positive way...

lot of times in road rage cases, you will never see that person again and it's not worth spending 20 years of your life or losing your life for something that can last only 20 seconds...

it's hard to overlook at the moment but don't get yourself in a situation where you regret the past...

peace, suckas...:cool

Definitely helmet-off. Saw a guy get mauled with his helmet on and he got his head swung against the ground. My buddy's dad got him, I was like twelve at the time and very impressed. Broke the helmet. Anger issues, man.

I used to have a great pair of Icon TiMax short gloves that I've fought with before. A rivet popped out and I replaced it with a screw-in spike. Takes the fight right out of you. They got stolen by the punks next door, but I can't prove it.

This thread is off the richter scale... hilarious! What happened to using our words? I know there are idiotic thugs out there, I just find it humorous that we have a thread strategizing how we are going to dominate said "spontaneous" beat down.

I'm just saying... Practice taking off your helmet with your gloves on. In case you have to defend yourself. I had a guy try to hit me with his car because I was lane splitting and he was stuck in traffic. Luckily I was able to get away. There are bad people out there. And our words are hard to understand with helmets on, too.

Put the large barf salute :twofinger sticker on the back of your helmet so if this glorious moment of opportunity presents itself just turn around and walk away.

The barf salute :twofinger has a mystical power that subdues all anger and your opponent can’t help but smile, return salute :twofinger, and walk away.

I am the 500-pound football lineman who beat down the other pussy biker. Makes no difference on or off, biotch!!!!!!:twofinger :twofinger :twofinger

You don't have to take gear off if you wheelie up and crush a murderous thug under your front wheel.

i would guess its better without the gear (gloves excepting) because most fights inevitably end on the ground, and with all that gear on your flexibility will be compromised, also if you are trying to punch i doubt you could punch as hard with a big bulky stiff leather jacket on.

helmet definitely off, unless you catch the guy by surprise and head butt him in the nose.

If I thought I was going to get beat down regardless, I would keep it on to reduce head trauma. If I have even a sliver of hope, its comin off so I can get my hits in... or atleast spit on 'em!

I don't know if I really understand this - but if you're on your bike and getting crazy - baretta 9mm - wtf do you care if you're wearing what?

If you're off your bike - fuck your gear - brazilian jiu jitsu all the way.

(boy I hope I didn't miss the whole point of this thread *throws mickey 40 bottle in trash*)

In another thread about cops and gear, someone mentioned the disadvantage of a helmet in that it's a grabhold for your chin. True.

Let's skip the gloves, because I think we can all assume everyone would keep their gloves on to thump with carbonfiber.

Carbon fiber is queer as folk, I rock the Titanium. :x

well.. this is from someone who has been alot of fights.. me.. :)

- if you cannot fight good enough to get your helmet caught by someone, and do not know how to get out of it if you get it caught. i recommend you do not fight. in my opinion, helmet will be add protection plus a good weapon.

- gloves are always good idea as even if you win, you stand a good chnace of breaking your fist and ripping skin off without gloves. also, having a glove enable you to hold a tighter fist, which helps you deliver harder punch.

- if you are about to fight, deliver the first bunch. you need to be a good judge of when the action starts. using your helmet or gloved fist will be added bonus in delivering the first blow.

- most people go for face bunching, and this is good with a helmet on. let them go after your head, and you go after their balls or legs.
