The biggest change was the 888 Superbike where I went from 37 to 41.
Couldn’t you just go down a tooth on the front sprocket, rather than 4 teeth on the rear? You might also need to go a tooth up on the rear, but four teeth is a lot. Big jumps like that can create challenges with chain length.

Gearing Commander gives number of links needed for changes. But you're a BMW owner, whaddya yous care?

Geez, man. Just tryin’ to help out a fellow biker. (And, uh, only had this bike for about 12 years/85,000 miles - just getting broken in). Gearing Commander. Pffft. I’ve got yer Gearing Commander right here….
