I know this isn't moto related but I'm on here a lot and just felt like posting this.

On the night of February 12, for the first time in the 132 year history of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the largest and most prestigious dog show in the world, the Beagle won best in show! WOOHOO! Christy (gf), George (dog) and I witnessed this fantastic feat and vowed to throw George a party due to his relatives victory.

Christy leaves for work at 7:00am and I head out around 9:30am; George hangs out at the apartment for a few hours until I return around 2:30 to walk him. When I came back to the apartment yesterday George, following his appetite had his head in a cookie container that was in the shape of a keg. It was on top of a bar-height table next to the kitchen with a lid screwed on. George being the magician he is, somehow got the lid off and proceeded to go after the yummy crumbs at the bottom of the container. George suffocated and passed away yesterday. Because of the shape of the container, it was very easy for him to squeeze his head in, but almost impossible to pull his head out with just paws.

It's been really hard on Christy and I but we know that George is in a happy place with lots of people and dogs to play with. He loved all of his human and doggy friends and I know he could bring a smile to anyones face with his affection and laid back attitude. Please take a moment to remember such a great dog, friend and companion.

The worst part of the ordeal is coming home and not having him greet us at the door, tail wagging and kisses pouring onto our faces. If you have a dog, smother them with love and affection.

Sorry to hear about your dog. The pictures are cute but I'm afraid I can't show them around (for their cuteness) if it the dog is no longer

p.s. I nearly thought it was your beagle that won the show

Aww, damn it. My condolences. When your heart scars over, please find another furry friend to love.

For a Great family friend

look at him sleep on the pillow :)

That's terribly sad; I'm sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great dog.

I know that George was not just a dog -- he was part of your family. My gf and I are sorry for your loss.

Man, that sucks! He looks like a great dog and a very good looking one at that. I'm sorry for your loss. Take comfort that you gave him a great life and that he loved you for it.

Oh damn......I feel for you guys. At first I thought this was going to be a happy thread and then........shit.......

My wife and I also watched the last day of the Westminster show just to see if Uno would win. It brought tears to my wife's eyes. Mostly because our Sophie wasn't with us. She lived a long and happy 13 and a half years and left us 16 months ago. We still miss her terribly. Like you, we loved the way she'd greet us at the door, tail wagging furiously, jumping up to get at us, and finally smothering us with her doggy kisses. I'd bet that Sophie had a warm greeting for George when he arrived.

A couple pix of Sophie:

dang man...i seriously had to wipe one out the corner of my eye...i know exactly how that feels. For what it's worth i'm really sorry for your loss. RIP George.

Sorry to hear about this....

my condolences.

:( I feel your pain. I know what it's like to lose a beloved family member like George. Carry his memory in your hearts but know that there is a homeless dog at many of the shelters around the bay dying for love and a home.
