im going to try and over come my distaste of redwood rd this saturday morning. If anyone is in the area and want to meet up for a ride ill be at Redwood rd/ junction skyline Blvd in oakland around 10am. If im late..which is just about certain, you can go ahead or wait for me. If you need to contact me call me at 510-326-1731, and please, no heavy breathing, late nite, freaky, crank calls :twofinger

KEN!!!!! We're doing a ride saturday morning, now dont pretend you've never been into the group ride forum. :D

You should come out and join us, trust me, the ride tomorrow is actually easier than Redwood road. Redwood has elevation changes and is bumpy in certain areas.

If not, I'd be down for some redwood rd action some other time, I think Ninja Ryder and Megyarbatyar actually live in Castro Valley so I'm pretty sure they've ridden that road more than once.

Yep again, but you forgot about the gravel :twofinger

I know you guys are doing a group ride on sat. but saratoga is way too far for me to ride just to go canyon carving. Its too cold hahaha. If the weather was warmer im willing to go but its too cold to travel far from home :D

Redwood rd

Why the distaste for redwood rd? I ride it all the time as I live 2 blocks from skyline. If you ever want to get out for a quick rip, drop me a note. The best part of the rd is the loop over to pinehurst from redwood before the Moraga intersection.

i hate redwood rd due to the fact that i've been spoiled on highway 9 and 35 alice's. Those roads are fast, smooth , level and best of all , mostly gravel free. The few times ive gone to redwood rd, theres been gravel, mud, dumbass motorist who doesnt seem to have been taught manners, and worst of all stupid road goes up and down. But my boy told me that if i can ride redwood rd consistantly and not eat it, i can ride the other roads so much better. So this weekend ill be attempting to hit redwood rd again saturday morning. If you wanna ride, lets hook up somewhere at the junction of Skyline and Redwood right at the top.

Your boy is right

Ken - your boy is right. Once you master redwood, then master Mt Hamilton. 9 is like a freeway drone in comparison to either. If you are up a quick couple of laps, I'm free on Sat at 10 for an 1 1/2 hrs. Enough time to do it 2-3 times and start getting comfortable with it. Just drop me a note and we can do it if you are free.
