give me some job ideas

It's a step in right direction though, don't you think? :laughing

It's a commendable accomplishment but wouldn't be enough for me to hire someone. What can they DO?

Nope, but beats having a 400 score.

Can they do more stuff than the person with the perfect score? Are they quick thinkers, or are they good studyers/test takers?

To be fair, it seems like a lot of job descriptions are written for a combination of Jesus, Superman, Batman, and the director of HR. "Entry level" positions asking for a Master's Degree, 5+ years of experience, and a list of skills almost as long as my...you know.

I could understand why someone new to the workforce would get quickly frustrated/overwhelmed and say "fuck it, here's what I think I can do, can someone with more experience point me in the right direction?"

totally.

the costant stream of entry level jobs asking for expeirence is crazy

In my experience they will still consider any good candidate even if they don't meet the criteria...some request 5-10 years of industry experience for candidates in their 20s or for industries that have been only around 3-5 years

I wish there were more companies with an apprenticeship model like the Big 4 accounting firms...I'm not saying they're a great place to work for everybody, but they take young, ignorant people and mold them into people who can do actual work. They taught me from scratch how to audit, having no prior experience at it.

A perfect score on SAT is not an indicator of success or the ability to actually do anything.

Yup. Just means you're good at taking multiple choice tests. I did absurdly well on the SAT (parents made me take it), even though I had zero college aspirations and only paid just enough attention in HS to graduate.

That said, I actually did have a guy in my graduating class pull the 1600 score and he's a MD (dermatologist I think) now.

No doubt some smart people will also get 1600.

There's a book by Malcom Gladwell called Outliers asking why some very smart people aren't successful.

Did the OP get blown out of his own thread already???
Wheredja go? :dunno

Probably checked out after the first page after no offer from a BARFer working at Pixar or Dreamworks to just give him a push button job as an AD on their next movie.

Shit, I listened to a dude complain about entry level jobs not paying enough at Rich White Lady Safeway (where I shop) after seeing the job posting for the store on the way in. They are starting checkers and stockers at just under $14.50/hr. Get a job hippy.

See. He was very smart. He doesn't have to mess with anyone's turds, yet still makes dinero gigante.
