Golden State Warriors 2017-2018

No idea what happens tomorrow. My thought is a close game (for once), with GSW probably prevailing. Just don't see another blowout, and I think the Rockets will "play harder" (former coach Kevin McHale's trademarked "gameplan" during timeouts).

new variable: Iggy is doubtful as of right now

Start Looney and bring Cook off the bench. He was 7-7 last night. He can score.

If they start Nick Young that means all 5 are potential 3pt shooters. That will be tough to guard. Drey and Young will be wide open the first 6 minutes until the firs subs come in. Granted, no one would be able to guard Capella.

I forgot there really aren't any bad seats @ roaracle, this is row 16, 2 rows from the very top

CP3 better step your game up or go down 3-1 and have like .1% of making the finals

Why the fuck did Klay not call a timeout there

That felt like game 7 when the offense just vanished in the 4th. Why no Javale? He is a great offensive weapon. He also helps rebounding, which was also atrocious this game.

Because he was too busy traveling (and not getting called for it) :laughing

Draymond was and didn't get it. Does the guy with ball have to be the one call it?

Kerr likes to not call timeouts there and let the offense run while the defense is not set. Problem was the offense was crap for the past 5 minutes. Durant needed to just drive to the rim, get contact and see what happens.

I kinda wanted to start Nick Young instead of Looney for offensive spacing. I guess starting 12-0 is good, they just didn't keep it up. Game 5 is going to be so tense I'm not sure I'll be able to watch it. I'm also going to be in New Orleans probably surrounded by tons of Rockets fans.

That's actually a good question. As per the NBA's website...

A player can call a timeout when the ball is dead (if the ball is out of bounds or a player is shooting foul shots) or in the control of the team making the request. An offensive player can call a timeout if he is falling out of bounds or if he is double-teamed. A defensive player cannot request a timeout when the clock is running. There may be a suspension in play if a player is injured or bleeding.

So no - it doens't have to be the player in control, though they can certainly call for it.. Just somebody from the team who controls it. GSW was in control of the ball, and Draymond was calling for it... but if you look back at the video, no one was looking at him... Every ref was looking at the interaction of Klay and the Rockets' players. Nobody saw him calling for it.

2-2

Well, this is the real finals.

Oh man, great game, and excited for a 3-game series.

It's heartening the Rockets were able to win a game in which their bench didn't really produce (aside from Gordon...and it looks like the Rockets went with a 7-man rotation? Jeez...).

I half expected a dud game after the blow-out, but not a loss, of course. :laughing

I always fall back on the memory of 1985 Finals and the Memorial Day Massacre in Boston, and how the following games went for the Celtics...

Rockets +1 at home for game 5? Jeez, Warriors were -8.5 yesterday.
