Good adsl modem/router?

I've gone through three wireless modems in the last ten years and two routers. Anyone have a preference for a home network setup? I'm tired of burning up $40 modems.

i think i paid $15 total for mine a while ago.

just installed dd-wrt on it this week which was super simple. the custom firmware lets me prioritize my work traffic over video traffic. so my girlfriend can watch her movies online and i don't see any slow downs while i'm working over the vpn.

it's a fantastic value for $15-$20. they say the features (eg Quality of Service) i'm using are usually only available on the more expensive routers.
