Good-ass cover songs

That was way to short. :x

I used the short Lulu TV show clip, because its interruption is said to have the inspiration for Mr Costello’s infamous/iconic SNL interruption/you’ll-never-appear-on-USA-TV-again performance of Radio, Radio … :laughing

here’s a seven minute “Sunshine of your Love” by Mr Hendrix in Stockholm in ‘69–the longer version is probably more in the spirt of Mr TylerW’s call for “totally transformed” cover versions in the OP:

Hendrix Crossroads is pretty cool. I have not seen that. I was a huge Clapton fan. Until I read his autobiography. He treated women... poorly. Asshole. Men are pigs, eh?

yes, think of you as a heavy-metal purist ... Cake has an official vid of their cover of War Pigs, but I thought it was a little much for this thread--even though I usually only like performance vids over just the audio versions. here's a link to their official music video:

in any event, probably not your cup of tea ... :gsxrgrl

And talking about the Stray Cats, some Bay Area rock-n-roll :afm199 history.

September 16, 1982, long time radio station KFOG dropped the easy listening format and went to a RnR album-oriented play list. :thumbup
The first song played was "Rock This Town" by The Stray Cats, and now for your listening enjoyment...

Better with the video. I thought their "I Will Survive" was suitable.

I am planning on a full cleansing later with some Tequila and Black Sabbath doing War Pigs.

Until then this will have to do. Liliac doing Dio. :thumbup

Talented family of rockers.

Lol I've seen a few of that guys videos. Usually good for a laugh. I'm impressed at how well he's able to mimic various singers. He does a pretty amazing Serj Tankian :laughing

He looks like he is having fun. :thumbup
