Hi everyone
I'm looking to buy a gopro hero 3 camera
First Q I have is if anyone knows a local
Vendor that I can get it from
Based on my research it's going
Up for sale $299-$399
2nd Q is can anyone give me some feedback
On the gopro from personal experience
Or can anyone recommend any other cameras
That can offer a good quality camera as a gopro.
Main use for it will be to take some footage while riding on my motorcycle

Thank you in advance

i have one. it works great. thats about it.

My battery lasts about 45-1hr.

Its only running 1080 also. Idk if its just mine or wht.

I have a GoPro 3 (black edition) that's brand new in the box. I already have two of them so this one just sits on my shelf. I'll sell it for $350 (save $50+ from the store).

Bestbuy sells them. Target. Walmart.

Got my GoPro Hero 3 Silver for $50 from a buddy. Very happy with it for the cost.

I have the original model. Have the newer versions gotten any more intuitive with their menus?
It sucked having to remember what all the codes meant.

Contour camera FTW.

Smaller form-factor, more aerodynamic, same output, and if you're fashion-forward, you can get different color exteriors. :thumbup

I have a Hero 3 White edition. Battery lasts about 3 hours, I carry an extra battery for longer rides. At lowest resolution a 32GB microSD holds about 3 hours - I loop unless I want to save something (high resolution about 1.5 hours I think). Also does stills, rapid frame, and time lapse. Menu is intuitive, great quality, lots of accessories to play with, free intuitive video editing software. I have a handlebar mount. I like mine and I would not rethink my decision. Got is as a birthday present from my wife - I don't know what she paid for it.

selecting a video camera

I just picked up a Drift Ghost (HD) ($300) takes awesome video there are some cool features!
1) You can mount the camera at any angle because the lens rotates 300 deg (only limted by your mount & area)
2) You can control the camera (on/Off & pause) with a remote control you wrap around you wrist, handle bars (Velcro Strap to hold the remote)
3) While videoing you can take still pics or burst of still pics while videoing (pressing large buttons on your remote)
4) You get several different mounts with as well.
There are many other features so check out the web site.
Also where I bought it in Union City I got select between a 16GB micro sim card or a telescopic suction mount FREE!!!!!!
Ready to pick up another one cool & small.:thumbup

Thank you all for providing me
Great information.
Not sure yet witch camera to go with
I'm sure I'll be happy with any one
Of them.
In the mean time have a happy 4th
And be safe out there

The black edition of the hero 3 is the one to get- it's the one that actually has an improved sensor over the prior model for a better picture. It's also the most pricey by a broad margin.

You can buy refurbished models for about $270, if that idea doesn't bother you.

wait for the gopro4 which will release soon

the 3+ Silver is my go-to camera. the sensor isnt as good as the black, but its battery life is much better. the 3+ came w/ a better housing and the buttons are much easier to use.

if you have a close friend that works for apple they have a major discount on them. i got a black edition for 260

So after looking in to all action cameras
I decided to with the drift hd ghost

Most likely will get it from best buy
