Great Albums.

Agree.
I am generally NOT into music of that era. But the creative and musical talent of the Doors is undeniable, imo... especially when considering there was absolutely no blueprint for what they were doing.

This is one of the most unknown and under-appreciated albums of all time. I have it and have loved it since came out.

I miss the cross fertilization of the analog days of music. Anyway . . . 'Turn of a Friendly Card' justified better speaker purchases at one time.

WRT JT - my fav. the beat of the music starting at 3:45 is exactly the pace of the hoofbeats i rode my last big jumper. always had this song in my mind to keep that rhythm. only time i got fucked up was a competition in bend where they actually played music. when me and ziggy went in the ring, they blasted ‘godzilla’. i was like - WTF?!?! but we made it work. he was a bit of a monster. :laughing

LOL, Wut?

I haven't listened to Metallica since the Black Album, although I did run into James Hetfield at the DMV one time. He used to live down the street from me.

The only thing I know about Jethro Tull is the forever infamous 1989 Grammy Award they got over Metallica's "And Justice for All" Album.

I think JT even beating Iggy Pop's Instinct album that also ran was a hard sell, but the general outrage from everyone that JT beat And Justice for All led to them creating new categories at the awards ceremony to make up for it. :laughing

Even Jethro Tull has since admitted they should not have won.
