i that is like a every day hooligan ride. But most of the time a camera is a bad idea,it will get broken.Cameras are expensive.

whats the point of puttin ur foot down?

i remember when i would do it dirt biking for stability going thru a corner at slow speeds but at high speeds????

I think it's dangerous at high speeds. I did save a lowside a while back while going like 25mph. My foot kicked back and slammed into the peg really hard. I was wearing my Sidi's and it still hurt like hell. I can't imagine if I was going any faster.

I think alot of guys just do it out of habit...

thats what i was thinking just out of habit. i cant imagine tryin to save it at 45 and jam/dislocate your leg in order to save it

I got to get me a damn mototard...this looks like a ton of fun!!:hail

It's really not necessary for high speed sweepers. I do it out of habit.

The problem is, is that most people do it WRONG. It really should be foot forward added with sitting WAY up front to keep the front end weighted.

It's just like just about anybody can drag knee if they lean and hang-off far enough. Whether they are doing it correctly makes the difference.

There is more than one way to put your foot out, to be sure. Dirt oriented riders tend to do it as Deon describes- foot out by the front tire. Flat track oriented riders tend to use the foot like an outrigger, beside the bike. Speedway riders do this also. Ever watch a Speedway race? Those guys are sideways as much as not! I have seen both styles used by pro riders with equal effectiveness. I tend to use the Flat Track style more because it's easier on my leg and hip muscles (cough*pussy*cough):laughing That, and I've learned to "tri-pod" through front wheel drifts, at 50 mph or more--- try that with your foot up near the front tire!

Thank Pat... your right!!

If you watch Michelle DiSalvo ride she uses the flat-track style as well. She really puts use to those sole sliders.

Somebody at the trackday told me i was putting my foot out wrong( kind of flat track style, i guess) but i just do whatever feels right to me, so im gonna stick with that shit!!!

i saw ya out there!

putting your foot out serves more than one purpose...

1) weights the front tire. supermotos are so damned light, that you need to get up on the front of the bike as much as possible to keep weight on the front tire.

2) cause when you're folding up pegs as they drag the ground...you need to get your foot the hell outta the way!

here ya go, photowhore (and yeah, i got more of em too).

Good to know I'm not the ojnly person kickin my boats out in mild sweepers. :thumbup...

That being said anyone know where I can get my Icon Boots re-souled?

Good vid!

But in the video that guy is just sticking his leg out for the hell of it. He is not close to even folding his pegs an he wasnt in a good lean.
