The problem is, is that most people do it WRONG. It really should be foot forward added with sitting WAY up front to keep the front end weighted.
It's just like just about anybody can drag knee if they lean and hang-off far enough. Whether they are doing it correctly makes the difference.
That, and I've learned to "tri-pod" through front wheel drifts, at 50 mph or more--- try that with your foot up near the front tire!SM610 said:There is more than one way to put your foot out, to be sure. Dirt oriented riders tend to do it as Deon describes- foot out by the front tire. Flat track oriented riders tend to use the foot like an outrigger, beside the bike. Speedway riders do this also. Ever watch a Speedway race? Those guys are sideways as much as not! I have seen both styles used by pro riders with equal effectiveness. I tend to use the Flat Track style more because it's easier on my leg and hip muscles (cough*pussy*cough)That, and I've learned to "tri-pod" through front wheel drifts, at 50 mph or more--- try that with your foot up near the front tire!
