Groups of bikers alarm SF's Russian Hill Area

these guys are all on groms... wtf are people worried about. I saw them smashing down potrero a couple days ago, my son was so juiced to see them and a couple of them hit the horn for him!! keep it up! :twofinger

I did not notice they were on grom's... and truth they did not show a lot of hooliganism. A wheeling a burnout perhaps, but not the sidewalk stuff that the video showed from '16.

It appears that with a little self restraint they are a non issue except for an inconvenience.

I bet that the lady was referring to the former riders in regard to her phone.... at least I hope so.

Where's the indignant outrage against DY crossers, high speed splitters, et al? Nothing but echoes... Talk about ambassadorship is cheap.
Why is it mutually exclusive? We're talking about these people now, you want to talk about those other infractions, start your own fukkin' thread. :rolleyes

The dirt bike shit has been pretty dead since everyone got locked up and the police raided some of their homes. Now it’s a bunch of guys on groms going out and having a good time. They are grouping them together with the guys like bud said from 2016 who would beat the fuck out of you and then do a burnout on your face.. It’s a grom get together, and groms are the ultimate stunt toy.

That lady looked like she was about to cry. she prob owns one of those 5 million dollar houses on Lombard and thinks they are bringing down her property value... move bitch get out the way!!!!

Grom Lyfe!!!

Yeah! The vid was just sensationalizing an issue, or perhaps a non issue.
Why do I hate Capitalism? I do not, and it sure amuses me. It is rather harsh at times.

She's lying, or she left out the part where she stuck her phone 6" from someones face.

She already looks like one of those.. she deserves a good slap across the head. stay the fuck out of peoples business.

Typical entitled sf resident.

Lawless = Illegal = Legal in CA. Any questions?

It is a different deal. Totally.

I get frustrated that the no chase policy in SF just let’s them have at it. They know it. The freeway show offs affect a few. These guys are in the news, riding stolen bikes, no helmets with little regard for public safety but still hold dear the lack of respect towards the motorcycle public image.

Cage em up with a dragnet Joe Friday. Show us you got some balls SFPD.
I know the do.... they are just in a vise. That sucks.

Isn't SF a Sanctuary City where all ILLEGALS are WELCOME and Police Can't touch them? :wtf Yeah, I think you're right, "They know it too". :rofl

People regularly come down on dy crossers and high speed lane splitters. Besides riding at a high speed while lane splitting isn't necessarily illegal.
Riding on the sidewalk like a hooligan is definitely illegal. Don't be so open minded your brain falls out.

Ambassadors are ambassadors to most non-riders.

The pearl-clutching in this thread is precious. I'm sure those Russian Hills residents are just as cheesed off as the residents of Woodside, and nigh.as numerous.

I hate digging up old quotes but this is really catching my attention, here we see BARF saying that hooligans doing takeovers on city streets riding stolen and illegal bikes is bad news - and on the other hand we are saying "What's the difference between the Friday night rides?"

I for one think the SF bike life setting is a bunch of fools abusing laws significantly, we like to pick and choose the laws we break right? Everyone faster than me is an idiot and anyone slower than me is a moron.

At this point, one thing is clear - our group rides are the lesser of evils by any measurable amount and safer to an extent, yes we have folks doing dumb shit but we still come in under classed in regards to the (bike life) level of fuckery.

So, this is a real moral motherfucking dilemma for me...

These days I live in the Excelsior, and nearly every day it's not pouring rain there are packs of helmetless hoodrats bombing up and down our street on straight-up dirtbikes with number plates, groms, and minibikes. The exact corner I live on is known for a constant stream of stupid sideshow shit from cars and motorcycles alike every day of the week.

For example..

What you don't see out of frame on the right is where I live.

So every weekend the weather is decent I'll be chillin with the SO in the living room, and here comes the unmistakable noise of dirtbikes banging block-long wheelies. So I always jog over to the window and check it out for a bit.

But I'm nearly 46 years old now... So the Shredded Wheat side of me says, "Goddamn hoodrat kids on dirtbikes banging wheelies up and down the street and blowing stop signs, it's unsafe and someone should do something."

But the frosted wheat side of me says, "Motherfucker, you once rode your supermoto into the lobby of a TGIFriday's to get a better run up to a flight of stairs you wanted to jump. And don't you dare fucking forget that time you lead a 100 bike group-ride over two fucking pedestrian overpasses while people were trying to walk across them. Do I need to keep listing off the stupid bullshit you used to do while riding?! Remember the burnout in the elevator?"

So I'm deeply conflicted.

Regardless, if you're missing a dirtbike, it's probably over here in the E tabletopping intersections.

Moike! Great to see another OG venturing back for a post (or two) on here!

I look back on some of the stuff that I did in my youth and realize how lucky I was to a) get out of it alive and b) not get caught by the cops.

Still, with my older perspective I know that I did some really stupid things and now recognize that. We can recognize what we did wrong and judge others that do it now without being hypocrites, IMHO, unless we preface it with 'it was different back then..'.
