GTA IV

You MUST be kidding...360 all the way for the most multiplayer action.

well heres the thing, and not to start a console war or show my fandom for a particular system or anything, but heres my list of why im having a hard time.

-the ps3 controller feels alot better imho, fits my hands nicely and since the aiming system in the game has you holding the trigger down half way to free aim and then all the way for auto targeting, its easier on the sixaxis controller.

-the forced installation does make the performance slightly better and from other reviewers, the graphics on the ps3 is a notch better, with the exception of the anti aliasing.

-since the ps3 never came stock with the headsets, people had to use their bluetooth head phones. when was the last time you saw some kid in middle school with one of those? where im going with this is that, there are going to be less kids complaining about noobs or if your doing well and call you a hacker.

- but the 360 does have the achievement system, and ill admit it.. im an achievement harlet :teeth " whore is such a harsh word :p "

- and i do have more true gamer friends on the 360, meaning the multi player action would be more fun.

- and my 360 does sound like a fookin jet engine trying to take flight when its reading any discs.

so im other words, do i choose friends or slightly better performance :cry

i concur with the blue ray movies, they're slightly better than the hd-dvd drive since its not going through the xbox's usb " alot of lag imo" but dl hd movies off of xbox live is a pain, since you can only rent the movie.

i rather buy up the hd-dvd movies right now though, since you can get em for cheaper than dvds since its obsolete.

i've spent 4 paychecks already on converting my dvds to blue ray :cry

Oh gawd I would never spend that much money on movies cause I only watch 'em once or twice. Music...now that's another story.

I agree with you about the PS3 having a better controller but like anything else your hands get used to it with enough gaming time.

well i got more than you'd think, one of the benefits of the employee discount :devil

your wrong, no lag and exactly the same quality as bluray down to the file formats on the disc, there have been speed test's done where the 360 add on was quicker then stand alones, definetly not slower by any means.

and although hd dvd's are no longer being made in the us i would hardly call them obsolete, maybe in a couple of years but look at the laser disc people are still buying them up yet a player fro them hasnt been produced in years.

well after playing for a few hours I really like the game. The camera take a little getting use to. It would be nicer if it followed you faster. Other then that the game is great. Time to grab some sleep.

The gameplay is awesome
Totaly diffrent
Now you have to watch your driving because you take damage inside the car (or go flying throught the windshield like I did)
Didn't get to far in game but this is a vast improvement over the last one

Gamestop.com messed up my pre-order. Ugh... They already comped me shipping on the PS3 and GTA IV, but I'm still pissed. I could be playing right now!!!

AWESOME FREEKING GAME!!!!

Oh and the 360 VS PS3 for GTA4 three letters: DLC (360 only)

Besides that they are damn near identical.

why wont they have dlc on ps3?
thats weakness...

I just walked into the local target and picked up a copy for PS3 during my lunch break. There were plenty of copies for both systems special edition and regulars. :dunno now I have to wait till 5 to play :cry

I guess im alone when i say im pretty disapointed in this game, where to start?

clunky character controls
hard to drive cars
average graphics
average physics engine
repititious

that should about cover it for me, I think this game was way overhyped and nowhere near a perfect 10 game, but thats my opinion and hopefully after playing it a little more ill change my mind.

yea i told you it wouldnt be hard to find a copy opening day. people are nuts if they think a game this big going to be sold out by 10am.

a friend of mine who doesnt have a job and lives 5 min from me picked me up a copy so i dont have to go to the store after work weeee :D

I haven't played GTA since it was first released on the PC.

Is this worth picking up for the 360?

What is DLC?

i think you are alone! the character and vehicle controls are both very good and a VAST improvement over earlier GTA games. the crappy cars are really hard to drive, nice cars are much smoother. something about the cars i've noticed- they are capable of realistic speeds. i.e. just because a car is crappy doesn't mean it tops out at 30mph. even a junker can accelerate to real freeway speeds, so you can't just hold the trigger down and drive as fast as you can around the neighborhood! try using light pressure on the trigger and controlling your speed, as you would in real life, and you will find that the cars are very easy to maneuver.

the graphics are very nice considering they had to create an entire city. you can't expect a huge sandbox game to look like gears of war, but i think they did really well. the city is beautiful and there are little details everywhere that must have taken ages to program.

and the physics engine incorporates technology that has never been seen in a game before, and for the most part it does a really good job of creating realistic character animations. have you tried shoving a pedestrian down a flight of stairs yet? i just had a guy actually grab onto the side of the car i was stealing from him and hang on until i was going so fast that he lost his grip.

maybe you let the hype get to you. it may have gotten 10/10, but that doesn't mean it's perfect in every way. it's just a really, really, really great game. loosen your expectations a little and try to enjoy it for what it is, the experience can become really immersive when little things happen here and there that make you feel like you are interacting with a real city.

downloadable content. basically little expansions you download, whether as tiny as new skins to new missions/areas to explore. i dont think they have released what the DLC will be for the game.

and from what im hearing, it is def worth getting for 360 or ps3.

The DLC (downloadable content) for the 360 will be exlusive to the 360 and it'll be 2 parts. The first part will be in August and will give an additional 10hours of gameplay. It won't be some chessy new outfit or anything.
