Oh fuck.

This game is going to eat a LOT of my free time.

Haven't gotten out of LA yet (yah, they call it something else, but it's effing SoCal) but have gotten into all sorts of trouble.

On a motard.
 
havent played it :( but i hope the shooting controls are alot better than GTA vice city.. cuz that kinda sucked then.
 
they're OK... you've a 'target lock' button as well as a fire button... plus you can crouch (better accuracy, plus you can duck behind things, or roll sideways if someone's got you pinned.)

One problem with ducking behind cars... they can be taken out with ONE bullet - just aim for the gas cap.

What's got me hooked is the gameplay depth. Wander into a bar, play a game of pool (and walk out with the cue still in your hand... good for beating the crap out of rival gangs without attracting One-Time...) Jack a lowrider, get the friendly neighborhood mech to work on it, and go have a hoppin' contest. Wanna show off for your homeboys? Bring back a sportbike and do 'donut' burnouts in the street... Low on cash? Jack a taxi, run fares around town. Or, find a pimp's car and take HIS job for awhile, ferrying hookers and beating up the johns who won't pay.

Etc etc etc.

But the "Sanchez" motard is by far the most fun. It's not insanely fast, but it corners really quick, even on sand.

sick game...i had it since the day it came out...but i play it only 1 hour

Once the game started, the first thing i
did was stole a FiveO motorcycle and ran
him over...funny as fak.... he didn't die thou...in fact...he got up and pull me over...(busted)
 
I have not put nearly enought time into this game. Got it when it came out and am just now getting to the turf wars. IIRC that's just before the "SF" area opens up to you.
 
Safety tip, when you piss off a cop (one star) - KEEP GOING. Po-po will eventually lose interest. I've outrun the cops on a bicycle with one star... granted, most of it was downhill... ow that's gonna leave a mark...
 
BTW, even if you haven't unlocked the other cities yet, you can get to them. Drive a car to the airport. Park by the wall near the security gate. Hop up on top of the car, jump up and over the wall. Jack the Dodo or the Learjet.

You'll scramble the fighters from the aircraft carrier if you cross the border but that's when the real fun begins.
 
Was playing last night and I was out on a date wit' my girl. Got attacked by another game and they blew up my car but I got out in time. After I killed them all I went to find my GF and she was pinned under the car. While I was standing there by here it said "Press L1 to kiss her" so I did. Game went into movie mode and I just stood there cause I couldn't get to her. Just her legs were sticking out. I couldn't get out of it and had to shut the system off. I let it sit for like an hour hoping a car might come along and hit my wrecked car and unpin her. Nope.
 
i bought this game and beat it and traded it in. now I want it back because it was that tight. i miss it alot

My favorite thing to do in the wars is to take out as many as I can with my car. run into some poles until it's smoking and then drive it into the group of guys attacking my hood, they shoot at it and it blows up killing them all and saving me from a shootout...

You can push a wrecked car by bumping it with another car... shoot, I've moved them just by bumping them on foot, it's slow but it works.

(Hey, I'm still working on the lowrider race and Big Smoke's wacky weedus run... I can keep up with that one dude that runs, but as soon as he jacks a car I'm out, the car I steal to chase him always ends up being the most spinout-prone BOAT in the game, while he's running, I'm trying to recover from swapping ends.... and something tells me you're not supposed to KILL him... maybe I'm wrong!)

Hey, anyone found the racebike yet? It's hidden in one of the parking garages - and yes, it has Rossi's number on the rear cowl. I'm gonna take the thing to Transfender, see if I can't nitrous the bastard... "INSANE STUNT BONUS!!" here we come...


And yeah, Marco's got the right idea. Smoke the dealers, steal their money (they usually have gobs of it). I'm always picking up mini-SMG's too... so they're becoming my weapon of choice (want that dual-wield ability when I reach Hitman skill level!)

I know you can move burned out cars but since it was in that movie mode I had no control over him. He was trying to kiss her and it wouldn't get out of movie mode till he was done.
 
the question then becomes, what were you trying to do, by making out with a girl pinned under a burning car?

You can save it though. I now have two of them garaged. W00t!


I found a set of ramps in a trucking yard in one of the 'sleepy little towns' in the hills... and spent a bit of time doing the Evil Knievel act.... :ken5150
