Growing up I always thought I wanted to have enough kids to start a baseball team. My parents only had 3....older sister, me, younger sister.

As I work more and see the cost of living and cost of product go up disproportionately compared to incomes I can only think and wonder if a smaller family is only the logical more realistic choice. Id rather have one or two children and live comfortably and enjoy my life and family then have lots of kids and not being able to spend time with them.

Motivation behind this thinking also comes from realizing I get along more with older women. I'm 28 and girls my age and younger....24-28...just dont have the same goals as me.
 
I want to run an orphanage in the mission field. :) I am waiting for my kids to be out on their own before I do it though. My goals haven't changed yet :)
 
kids aren't that expensive.....but they do take oodles of time.....

and to answer your original question....yes....the only constant in life is change*

The monetary cost of raising kids is nothing compared to the time/energy required. That should be the main factor in how many kids.

1 kid = you always know who decided to be all Picasso on the living room wall with sharpies...not too bad
2 kids = x3-x4 the work/energy of 1 kid
3 kids = x5-x6 the work/energy of 1 kid, now you and the mrs are outnumbered
4 kids+ = not much different from 3 kids (from what my friends tell me), unless you go all Duggar with 19 kids


Raising just 1 or 2 kids is very expensive in this area. CHUM, just you wait :laughing.
 
when I was younger, I wanted the world. these days, I'd just like a job that didn't suck my soul every day. I know, I shld be happy to have a job. but the place I work seriously fills me with nausea and bile.

Yes, everyone should have as many children as their breeder/wife can physically handle, just to make sure we exhaust the entire world's resources and create as much urban sprawl as possible. One thing I was just thinking the other day was how I wish there were more shopping malls and houses around.

actually my goals are more evolving than drastically changing...always wanted adventure and travel but for different reasons now. my reasons are more personal and introspective than before, and revolve more around my own world

same with art...always artistic but for different reasons is all. more personal

really what continues to happen is my wothdrawing from this world more and more and into my own i guess

Nope, just speaking the truth.

Here's a simple fact. You will never have more options in your life than the moment that you're born, from that point forward, all of the choices the you make (or the ones made for you) will reduce those options to varying degrees.

Part of life is about maintaining your expectations to match reality.

no one should consider themselves luckyt JUST to have a job. youre right in being mad that you hate your job so
