Hawai’i Barf Anyone ?

We rented a Suzuki Savage 650 and did the Road to Hana in Maui two-up and it sucked royally :laughing. That bike is so squished and the thumper screamed and vibrated over 55mph.

We upgraded to a Shadow 750 and it was much better.

On another note: we rented a 50cc two stroke scooter in Bermuda a few weeks ago. Rode two up and was, um, an experience. :laughing

$450 for a one day motorcycle trip in the dirt? :rolleyes

How much does it cost to just ship my motorcycle over there?

hawaii is definitely not a cheap vacay and the island ppl know this.

i just left some $120 luau feeling like I ate at my local $20 buffet, the show was.. ummmm lacking, feels like it was seriously a $40-50 dinner show for that ticket. $240 for 2x ppl for 2 hours, shit aint cheap

If that looks promising then you won’t believe what Barfers have already lives on Maui. And SRN is right; For that price we can do 4 days of riding; We did the volcano road in an hour. We DONT need guides especially on Maui as we have already been guided around by locals and know all of the roads and routes very well.
For Maui we can expect around $100 -$200 per day for a room divided by 2-4 people , $150 per day for bikes.

I’m thinking more and more on this one! It’s on the bucket list, it’s a state I haven’t been in, I almost went a few years ago and some of y’all make it sound worthwhile and financially reasonable.

While this thread has been bumped...

Do any of you know of non-Harley motorcycle rentals on Maui or Kauai? I'll be spending a week at each the end of September and might want to spend a day out riding. The last time I checked on Kauai, all I could get was a Harley model that I didn't even like for over $200 a day. Not worth it to me.

The best Hawaiian motorcycle rental was when I got a KLR650 on the big island for a reasonable price. But the guy that rented me that has shut down his business (was hiadv.com).

Fz7S and KLR 650s on Maui for $150 per day with Eagle Rider and Maui Sports.

Anyone clear on dates ? looks like I am heading back soon myself but still want to show a few willing Barfers some pure hawai'i awesomeness.
for me Sept-November is doable Then Feb 15- March 10
Flights should be $350 to $450 Round Trip
7-10 days with a target of $50 per day split expenses plus $150/day bikes
we also could do 3 solid days of riding on Maui and Kaui and split a car for next to nothing the other 4 days if people really need to keep costs down.

You’ve invited us but your going without us! So you ain’t waiting a few more months for me to get my stuff together?

That is good to know but sucks for me because I just got back from Maui, and I had at least a day I could have done this. I saw the scooter and Harley rentals and was not interested enough in those rides. I'll probably never have the money or enough interest to go back to that island. The regular tourist stuff is just ho-hum for me.

Hawai’i would bore me too if I didn’t know what to do or where to go.
The point of this thread is to give a Barfer a a chance to do it right the first time.:teeth:ride
But yah, I’d pass on the Harley’s and scooters as well.

i went 2 maui already this year so im down for feb-march 2020

my gf is gonnnnna be pissssed im going to HI without her :laughing

Now because of this thread and Butch, I've emailed MotoHawaii to see about a ride when I visit my mom next month on Kauai!

Braaaap!

Since I’m only in pre- retirement and The Man ask me to reconsider my upcoming fly & ride I’m down for the February- March ride.
