What size of near-inverted microscopic penis did this RSX fool think he was trying to prove he didn't have when he decided to pass members of his own club across a double-yellow, around a blind curve, and in the fog?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but on a group ride (cage or bike), there's no shame in being last. The shame comes from arriving at your final destination in a body bag, or from getting one of your buddies (or a complete stranger on an R6) smashed to bits over your stupidity.
We have to look at ourselves, as well - when unjustifiably stupid displays of speed and situationally inappropriate foolishness are rewarded with applause and laughter, there will always be a noob or a self-esteem case willing to push the envelope for acceptance. I'm sure this guy was picturing himself bragging about his passing abilities and driving prowess at the next rally point as he was rudely awoken by the sound of crunching plastics and the smell of burnt rubber.
The cager deserves everything that's coming to him for his single moment of indiscretion. The R6 rider deserved nothing that he got, but everything that he's legally entitled to for having to suffer the result of this driver's blatant disregard for everyone else on the road.
I just hope that the driver owns his mistake, pays his dues, and becomes a better person for it. He better thank whatever god he believes in that he didn't kill one of our brothers - prison would not be the worst thing he would experience in the few days he would have remaining in this world....
To the other drivers from CRSX - thanks for the support. Take care out there, and police your own.
