Held "Steve" Gloves?

As a former motorcycle adjuster I have seen many the pair of Held gloves hold up in pretty high speed crashes I have yet to see the CF knuckles make a real difference except additional bruising
I recently crashed pretty hard in a pair of women's Racer gloves if you can't afford the Held Racer is an A+ alternative

Yep, my Racers worked great in my 100+mph get off at the track. Tore a seam on the outer palm layer but nothing reached the skin.

the Helimonts do look great, but I really like the rivets in the palm of the Steve. After a get off at 80+ on the freeway that burned through the palm of Vanson leather gloves, I just kind of like the extra security. Any one know of other gloves with rivets in the palm?

All those rivets will do is heat up when sliding down the road

I low sided at 20 mph and the entire side of my Racer high ends ripped open, not even on the seam
Were they a new purchase? Where were they manufactured? Were they real? Racer is known to be a solid quality glove.
I know mine appear fine but I will be replacing them anyway since I don't know the full extent of the damage they may have received

:rolleyes Blah blah blah... From the Steve page: "rivets underlayed with Kevlar® branded fibre and NOMEX for heat protection" - I'd bet that's not really a concern. I sure wouldn't have bought 'em if it was.

Sportrider September Issue has the Glove Guide. That may help to see, HOW Gloves are rated. Not tested though. You may see, the HELIMOT Gloves versa HELD Gloves and many others. Not a bad rating for Helimot, since they started around 4 years ago with making their own gloves.

Of course it is good to know, where are Gloves made.

Who does the repair or alteration on Gloves, when they are" Made "somewhere else, besides in the US.
Helimot does, at least on their brand.

Gloves are funny. I have crashed many many pairs, and destroyed, in one crash: Helimot 365, Held ( forget the name, the $200 plus race model), Alpinestars, Teknic, and a bunch of others. I have also had gloves come through crashes unscathed. As far as I am concerned, it is a flip of the coin. My favorite glove for crashes ( the ONLY one that I have crashed 2-3 times on one set) is the Teknic Violator series, and that is all I use. I will never buy Held or Helimot again. Nothing personal, Helimot makes great leathers.

I like my helimot racers. Hold up well, repairable. A little thick, but soft and supple. I wadded it at low speed (parking lot stuff) on the helimots twice, had a friend wad it in them once, and sent them back to them and they repaired them for 23$ total cost. They also retailored the straps at my request so I don't have them flapping about. Can't beat that. I'll wear them until they wear out, send them back to get repaired for 1/10th of the cost of a new comparable set. :thumbup

I've got the Steves. They fit me best of any gloves I've tried or owned, and they feel awesome. Haven't crash tested them but they feel and appear to be well made and durable. One note on the light colored palms-- they get dirty easy.

Brand new. Scuderia swapped them on the spot. I have no beef with Racer gloves, I think they are well designed. But my experience made me think twice. For the record, the pair I received in exchange held up just fine, but I didnt crash in them. I have since bought H-20's

Well, Im sure Held researched it, and figured they were good, so...I would never buy gloves with metal on them, if the rivets are indeed metal. Just a personal preference
