Help, I got a ticket for 110 mph, need advice.

It's currently an infraction, as has already been mentioned in the thread. A 2-pointer, but still an infraction.

Bullshit. They will take notes and refer to those notes in court in front of the judge.

I was talking to my cousin who is a police officer in Miami Florida and he said that they CAN write notes. Funny thing is, his ass is the one who told me they can't and he wont admit it! So I do apologize, when I am wrong, I am wrong. to the other comment about my advice not being "how it works" I mean hey everyone is entittle to their opinion, no reason to be an asshole about it though. It has worked for me every time, even when i got pulled over at gun point for speeding. You LEO's are hard working guys, I would love to be a cop after college. I was an EMT and saw some of the shit you guys have to go through every day. Bottom line is when I get pulled over I try to make it as comfortable for you guys as possible. Everything is yes sir, no sir. If I am in a car, especially at night I turn on all my interior lights lower all my winows, turn ignition off, and place hands on 10 and 2 on the steering wheel. Maybe thats why cops "let me go" I have no idea. I just know that I have never had a cop show up to court and I have maybe been to court.....25 times? all cases dismissed. I AM NOT PROUD of going to court that much, I am simply stating personal fact so other barfers can see, thats all. Just for the record :p I have had zero accidents and zero points on my license. In miami, where I was raised, there are SOO many speed traps its unbelieveable. So getting a speeding ticket over there is not that uncommon. Miami is full of strait smooth highways for miles and miles, kinda hard not to use them ;-):ride

Interesting timimg, as someone at my work happened to mention that a change in law recently made going 100mph or over a felony. Anyone know if that is accurate & what it would translate as?

Not that I would speed like that, just adding it for the thread.

I saw a thread in "General" reporting that there's a new law on the books in Florida that makes exceeding the limit by 50mph a felony on the second offense. I've never seen anything like that in CA.

I've also heard that 2x speed limit is considered felony. Not true? :angel

AFAIK, not true in California. Driving laws vary wildly state by state.
