Wow. Usually I don't care much for traffic laws as long as one is driving/riding safely and/or skillfully. However, in this case, I think you don't deserve a license.

Oh...I thought you were a troll, since you just registered this month, and have an R1 that's why I said what I said.

What you need is to go to the court (on the day it says on the ticket that you signed, the one that doesn't admit guilt, but promises that you'll show up to court or take care of the ticket). You'll wait for an appearance in front of the judge and ask for the ID-10-T form, and state your case in writing on there.

Don't say anything like the cop was lucky you stopped, just tell them what they want to hear. You're sorry, you've got your stuff in order and a license, you're responsible. And they'll almost always dismiss it, if not, they'll at least reduce it to a felonious infraction with a one week probationary suspension on only your M1, which won't affect your Class C license.

Personally, I'd advise you to continue speeding, license, who needs them. Hell, have a few drinks, chances of getting pulled over are slim in a city that size, especially considering how grown up and mature you are. Put a few racial slurs on your helmet and bike, you know, because that's just cool. Next time you see a cop, go ahead, just flip him off, it's your right. Let us know how things turn out for you.
 
You know, when I was a kid, (uphill both ways, in the snow) I used to pick up tickets like candy on Halloween. For a couple of years, I was on the DMV Watchlist because I was always 1 point away from a license suspension. And you know what? I developed a superpower because of it! Really! I could suddenly see cops. Wherever they were hiding! I quit getting tickets too! I haven't had a ticket in years because of my nifty new superpower!
Too bad everyone can't develop the same superpower. Oh well, there's always the BART. :thumbup
