Hobbies for the OCD Crowd....

... my latest obsession (besides ANT) is r/c planes. I've been into it for almost 4 years. I have 10 planes on the rack behind me, and 1 is being shipped to me, and I am picking up another, P-51 Mustang, tomorrow.........

One really cool thing is this- I got a phone call from a SBR member, Spurber, who I have not heard from in many years. He found me via BayRC.com, a local rc site. I have the same screen name, and listed my interests as; dogs and motorcycles- so he put two and two together.

When I was in Oakland last november I saw a guy that looked like you (I've met you at a meet years ago) that was flying an RC plane in the park.

Pretty much all my hobbies bring out the OCD in me. But they last for 6 months to maybe 2-3 years, and then I'm on to something else.

I think turning it into an actual business helped me keep focused, if you'll forgive the pun.

I've religiously avoided R/C, because I know it would absolutely ruin me financially.

there's the brushless powered 1/24 4wd Losi, (does over 30 mph) and as soon as that sells, Kyosho makes a little 4 inch long gyroscopically balanced Yamaha cycle

finally finished my AR-22lr build so range trips working on my grouping at 100 yds plus for more relaxing hobby time

I went out to the baylands once to watch Lefty crash fly his plane and it was like Alice's for planes out there. Those guys have some serious shit and are happy as hell to work with new people regarding buying planes and gear. Just what I need.

Would you believe that I actually went through a crazy crochet phase myself? I ended up making a bunch of baby blankets for my friends. I caught a lot of crap from my buddies, but I met a bunch of women at the airport while doing it. It's one heck of an icebreaker.
