04 July 2010 - Southbound on Highway 1, approximately 15 miles north of Jenner, CA. I took this as a pilon, on Gordon's 2001 BMW R1100S, holding a MinoHD flip camera [that's why it's so shaky]. This was a fun ride. We were headed up to Point Arena, CA and turned around on this stretch to take this video. I really love riding on 1. :ride

They're up there alright. Especially a few more miles south of where your vid was shot. The cliffs just north of Jenner are loaded with them. There seems to be a mutual understanding. I almost NEVER see them *technically* on the road....but they seem a bit less concerned about contact than I am.

I have:thumbdown Traffic kept me to about 40, but coming around a turn with two crossing the road is no fun.

Yeah, every time we've rode up 1 we've seen the cows. Amazing to me that they're on a mountain side as they don't seem to be sure-footed animals. I have to wonder how many of them fall off the mountain each year. We've never come across one actually on the road-way, but once we did see about six or seven of them lounging on the mountain side [versus the cliff side] looking at the passing cars, trucks and motorcycles like we were really annoying. haha

You want fog? Ride up to Mount Tam at about 9am and you will ride right through it and end up above it and can watch it roll in over the hills.

I have not been unlucky enough to run across them myself, but I have heard that cows wander across Wentworth Springs Road sometimes. I like them fine behind a fence. In the road, not so much.

You city slickers are a funny bunch, welcome to the north country! :laughing Besides the cows themselves, there the patties too, watch out for them. I'm far more concerned about the deers myself; you don't see then 'til it's too late.

Love hwy 1...luckily its pretty much in my backyard!

You are lucky! That's an awesome riding road!

Yeah, I'm definitely not a country girl. There weren't any cows in the Chicago suburbs where I grew up, but there were deer.

That cow was a bull.....:)

Ha. Really? Well, that wouldn't fit my silly sense of humor for the Harry Caray/Chicago reference that no on would pick up on - unless they know I'm from Chicago. Hehe

A few weeks ago, I was riding in that area and had to cross the dy to avoid a cow who was grazing on the side of the road with the rest of this body blocking the lane. :laughing

I took these two years ago on Hwy 1, somewhere near Salt Point State park.
